Not sure where but i read a how to on a carbon scrubber that used mesh pencil holders, one large one small one and a nylon sock, you pour activate carbon into the large one so that when the small one sits in it they are at the same level, then fill around the sides of the large one and small one then pull a nylon sock over it and place on fan. I made it put it over my fan and closed the doors for about 30 minutes and the temps jumped to 91, wtf!!! no air was passing through my filter. Im pissed, why didnt it work like the how to said it would. I can get pictures later dont have my camera with me.

what kind of fan are you using on your exhaust?
Some fans cant handle backpressure and therefore won't work well with filters.

what are you trying to cover up with that small of a filter? Any big sized plant will almost always over power the filters ability.
