You're 100% correct. This is primarily for micro/stealth setups. I run 2 cabs, 1 for clones and the mother and 1 for flowering. Both use scrubbers based on these dimensions. The flower chamber is 3sqft, the clone chamber is 1.5 sqft. As you can see, I am definitely a micro/stealth grower. While an exchange rate of 3 to 4 times may seem high, this is a good rate for intense cleaning. Naturally, you can scale this down if you wish. Yes, a scrubber based on these dimensions will get quite big if used in a full room. However, these dimensions are exactly the same as used by professional can scrubbers. If you've ever seen a mobile autopsy room, then you know that they use incredibly large scrubbers that look like water heaters. One of the reasons why these scrubber solutions are so big is also because they are meant to last for roughly 2 or more years. If you half the size of the scrubber, your carbon should last about 1 year, and so on. In the end, as Koi mentioned, this isn't concrete. You can fudge with the numbers and alter them to suit your needs. As it stands, this will give you a scrubber that exactly matches the guidelines for professional scrubbers and will last up to 2 years and possibly 3 years. It will also do a 100% professional job and there will be zero odor. I've known people who use scrubbers too small for their grows. While they didn't smell it (probably because they were used to it), I certainly could smell it. Now, I don't work for a scrubber company, nor am I some math or physics whiz, so some of this stuff is kind of fuzzy even to me. However, as I said before, using this equation will give you a scrubber exactly the same dimensions recommended by professionals. To test this, I looked at several sites and took note of the scrubber dimensions that they had listed for various room sizes. I then did an equation based upon the proper CFM and I ended up with almost the exact same dimensions. Also, none of this is original research. This is actually compiled from posts on Overgrow. Just after Overgrow shut down (where I was also a member), I scoured the site looking for something like this. What I found was a conversation thread detailing a lot of this info. Only certain pages were cached by Google and certain parts were quoted and referenced in other threads. I had to scramble about and piece things together, but I managed to find all of the missing pieces. The info all came from a user named 11 Leafed Leaf. All I did was compile it and test it to make sure that it complied with dimensions of actual professional scrubbers for sale. Again, Koi is right on when he says that this is more of a guideline than a rule written in stone. Feel free to change things around and fudge the numbers a bit. As it is, these are high powered, professional scrubber specs intended to last cleaning incredibly intense situations, such as crime scen cleanups and mobile medical/autopsy rooms, for roughly 2 years and up to 3 years. Anyways, thanks for the interest and a big thank you especially to Koi for reposting this info, otherwise it might have been lost! Since it looks like PlanetGanja is gone, I am currently residing at the Canna Cabana. I just wanted to pop in, answer some questions, and add some insight as well as state my thanks. Good luck, good grows, and stay safe. ~ BombSquadron#65

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | just found this in a post across the garden, but the link was security classified, so it was like i could see you choader, but i could not touch you. lol all those numbers look interesting, but 1.33 am, so just going to snuggle up in the corner and have a nap if that;s ok. I will look at the numbers and who else is here when i awaken. Here's a bedtime bong, miss sophie sativa, early pick so bit light, but left some tops to get a range of stones, so i can dream about smoking them. lol nigel

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Can Filters are the standard workhorse filters that wont let you down...the newer ProFilters one-up them IMO, they are built to be refillable, and in the larger sizes they are made to be reversible (you switch the end cover and the flange) so you use all the carbon in the filter. The ones I have seen in person are extremly high quality, nice hardware and nice thick flanges, no flimsy stuff.
