Rule of thumb for co2?
permalink

Two weeks into flowering first grow. I can obtain a co2 cylinder tomorrow 20lbs I think. Not got a meter or any other kit for it,if I just turn it on a little for an hour or two a day in a large cupboard 8ftx6ftx3ft with good ventilation,it can do no harm, right? Hopefully it can only do good. Will buy a proper meter etc after this grow but in the meantime any ideas about a rule of thumb? I am thinking if I just crack the valve open slightly and leave it to run just hissing quietly for an hour or two???? Any thought? Much appreciate the help on other threads guys,by the way!

Only really intend to put it on for an hour or two.Got a good exractor fan and its the other end of the house anyway. Not too concerned about safety as the air in the room is changed every 3 minutes.

without a flowmeter or regulator of some sort, you are going to empty that bottle extremely quickly.

possible idea....

take a balloon and fill it with the CO2... put a piece of tape on it and prick with a needle thru the tape into the balloon.... the tape will keep it from popping (old magicians trick)

put the balloon in your cab and just let it slow leak

Marvelous idea! Got the cylinder today (free) have been experimenting with the valve but its just too fierce! The balloon idea's good though, but here's a thought,a condom will hold more!!!
Thanks a lot for the tip!
