![]() | Is anyone monitoring humidity here? A couple people said something about condensation. I'm having temperature and humidity problems. My little digital hygrometer is showing as little as 20% at over 90 degrees F. And yeah, my plants suck. They are really hurting. Light is 250 HPS. I'm not going to stick an air conditioner anywhere near these guys, I just don't have the space. I've heard that 55%-60% Relative Humidity is optimal and so now I worry about temperature and humidity together. I'm thinking this fall when it cools off, I'll start another grow (three plants max) and stick them in a tent where the plants themselves can keep up the humidity.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nice work man ![]() Much easier better, & cheaper than adding ducts to a portable ac, I've done that too... Portable ac's kinda suck unless they're a duel hose portable AC... The single hose ones are junk. I've finally bit the bullet and shelled out for a split system AC and I'm wishing I'd done it years ago. Last edited by GreenDragon2k; 07-16-2009 at 11:21 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah i just did this cause it was free.... free a/c, free wood...free free free!!!i have a monster fan i could toss in there, but its only 6" duct...so fuggit. Portable a/c's do totally suck balls. But no one believes me on this! I will continue to preach the gospel ![]() If i ever get any money id like to try an all water cooled grow room, with exchangers in all the ducts...seems like it would work a treat. Stick a water cooled or mini split in there while im dreamin! Oh yeah...V8D8. i dont give a fuck about humidity. it is what it is...i put zero effort into it. ive grown in the desert with 20% rh and did great, ive grown out there with rh in the 40 and 50s and had lots of probs. not to say the humidity did or didnt cause these issues. but im not gonna put the time or frustration into controlling the RH of my space. i got the temp right, i have air coming and going.... nothing else i can really do besides worry myself sick over it.

Odd, though ... I am growing Mandala seed's Sadhu which is supposed to be very heat tolerant. I am seeing that this is true, but growth seems to be slowed down considerably by my high temp conditions. With my high temperatures, I am also seeing very low humidity, into the 20%'s. I wonder if I boosted the humidity, I might see a little more lush vegetation. Another thing, all other things being unchanged, a decrease in temperature is going to increase humidity if you don't change anything else. I guess that is the "relative" part of relative humidity.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Since I grow in an uninsulated metal shop, I'm always having temp probelms to some degree. The shop is elevated on one end and there's enough room for a small box {3x2}. I've been toying with the idea of building a box and install a 6500 a/c. have the air intake for the cab. running through the box, cooling the air before the box, thus cooling the box. I run my flower through the night so the temps are better, but during the day they stay higher than the night temps. Should just insulated the ceiling and add a exhaust fan for the shop and see were that gets me. Anyway I'm rambling, Smokie

Your humidity could be a perfect 48 percent rh (during flowering period) and if your temperature isn't within range your ladies will be on the rag! You should try to keep closest to 78f during lights ON. It can drop as low as 60F during lights OFF and your girls will still prosper! I wouldn't worry about the rh until you experience mold or powdery mildew.. then you have a new set of problems. Hope this was helpful,
