I went to home depot and other stores yesterday to try to find some inline fans and they all had none. Their websites have them, but not buyable online..... I was told by the people at the store that the fans are out of season...? How are fans that are used inside OUT of season? Am I missing something? Also I couldn't find carbon filters anywhere, any ideas where to buy them would be great.

![]() | Ive been doing a lot of shopping around for inline fans and carbon filters lately myself. The cheapest system that i found that still looked like it would perform to my expectations was from high tech grow supplies ebay store.....found here eBay Store – High Tech Garden Supply: Search results for.. The 4" fan/filter combos are something like $20 more than buying the fan and filter individually, but they come ready to be installed which seems worth it for to me for buying not much more. just my ![]()

But 120 bucks for a 4 inch fan with carbon filter? A 4 inch fan is like 14 bucks... how much do carbon filters run for normally...? I also didn't want to order big items like that online, would preferably get them in stores.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think it is because 99% of the population has no need for a fan in winter, they want heaters. With only a certain amount of space in a store, they take an "all or nothing" approach with their inventory. Silver lining: they are usually on sale about sept. - a good time to stock up.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is the type of fan used for indoor gardening. A 14 dollar fan is useless. Google will find you plenty of places to buy one. Locally you would have to find a hydro store to pick one up. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | inline fan 4 inch home depot - Google Product Search Well the price just recently doubled..... guess the sale went away ... I found a hydro shop near me that sells fans and filters and stuff etc... I can't find any actually pictures how size comparison to how big a 4 inch fan and filter would actually be. I was looking at these... for a filter: https://fifthseasongardening.com/cat...oducts_id=2791 these are the 2 differen't fans... what's the main difference between them though? https://fifthseasongardening.com/cat...roducts_id=683 https://fifthseasongardening.com/cat...oducts_id=2989 The first one looks... smaller and would fit easier in my container.. I'm not sure about the second one. I can't find any size comparison vids/pics Last edited by xtensity; 10-31-2009 at 09:17 PM..

![]() | while that is a 4" inline fan you found at home depot, it moves less that half the CFMs and is less that 1/3 the strength of most comparable fans from hydroponic stores. I the store near my place sells the fan/filter combo for nearly $200. It seems that to effectively ventilate and use the carbon filtration at the same time one needs a pretty strong fan.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Although my hydro store carries those PC fan duct fans, they are so bad, they wont even sell them to me! Put any sort of length on that, or any thing that creates pressure, and you will see just how bad they are.
