Hi All, I currently have a closet grow, with 2 X 400Watt HPS. I am going to build 2 Flower cabs, for my next grow. The seeds are sprouting so I need to do this fairly fast! ![]() I have the 2 ballasts already- the ones from the closet. They are the dimmable type, so I can run 600, 500, or 400 watts. I'm probably going to build about 2 X 3 X 7 or even 2 X 4 X 7 (to take advantage of a 4 X 8 sheet of plywood) and run 600 watts, for the 2X4 thats 75 Watts/foot. if its 2 X 3 I'll run 400W, for 80W/sq.ft. I want to do 2 venting styles on each cab. The first is for the lights- in from outside (I hope) or inside the dwelling, into a DIY cooltube, and out the cab. Very small carbon filter in case of small leaks, but mostly itll go only through the cool tube and back out, a sealed unit. If I bring the air straight in from outside, it'll be cold, very cold. I'm thinking of window film over a very slightly cracked window- giving me about 30-50 degree air. (I checked it last winter) The other is passive, for odor. I really want to just put a fan/filter combo in the cab, and just let it filter all day and night. Possibly 2 small muffin fans, 1 in 1 out, just for venting so the air doesn't get too stale. With this method, I won't need to spend big $$ for the inline fans on each cab- big enough to pull thru a carbon filter AND vent the cool tubes. I'll just need a booster fan to run the cooltubes, and a fan good enough for about 100 cfm for the filter. 1. Will an inline booster fan LIKE THIS ONE work for the DIY cooltubes, given its a sealed unit, and no carbon filter to worry about? Or maybe just a furnace carbon filter in case of small leaks. 2. will it work, having a DIY carbon filter in the cab, no exhuast, just filtering the air 24/7? 3. Could I then use just no real air exchange, just the opening of the door every day? 4. Given that it's a small cab, with the filter running 24/7, could I DIY one with an inline booster fan on top of a carbon filter LIKE THIS ONE? Help is appreciated, and I am on a very, very tight budget. Thanks for reading this long post!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Also thinking of getting 1 400Watt MH ballast kit. I only have the (2) 600W digital/dimmable ballasts, and need a vegging light. I also have a spare MH 400W bulb laying around. Anyone ever use one of the kits? They seem pretty easy to wire, and I got diagrams, but hoe well did they work?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Cool thanks I thought it might, given no filter to pull thru. I'm gonna rig it to pull the air thru rigid 6" duct I think, no pinholes like the flexible stuff is full of.
