Question whats the best material for retaining cool air?
permalink

Sup everybody, just wanted a few opinions here's my prob. This isn't my first grow but it will be the first time I have ever grown in the garage. I would grow indoors but the wife ain't havin it (yeah I know how pathetic it sounds). Anyway I live in sw florida and my garage garage isn't thhe most ideal place to grow since the ambient temp is around 85f. I plan on building some type of stealth box but I'm not sure what type of materials I sould use, or even if matters. I had a couple Ideas, 1) building a wood frame and then drywalling it 2)building a wood box and then line it with styrophoam (spelling?) 3) or just build a box out of plywood. Either way I plan on running cold air in from my central ac unit, and pumping hot air out through the hood of my light. I'm thinking about making it 5.5'h6'w4d, any suggestions?

The styrofoam is a good choice. Another good choice is Reflectix.

Ette and I started our married life in fashionable N. Ft. Myers; also known as Fort Misery, the Land of Eternal Heat and Humidity.

We r seriously considering moving out of state, I've had enough of gods waiting room. We would def move to a legalized state, not sure which colorado seems nice. Just need to sell our house....

Good luck with that. Cape Coral...home of newlyweds and nearly deads. We're still in the same state, but we're much farther north now. It's a little place called Nearly Georgia, Florida.

FYI mush...Florida has a 25 plant minimum for seriously screwed up heavy handed felony charges to kick in.

Stay under the radar...follow the golden rules of dont tell, don't smell, and don't sell.

You make a good point slow, never ever ever tell, loose lips sink ships! I only plan on flowering 3 plants at a time by scrog, its all for meOne more question about the styrophoam, how well do you thhink it will reflect light? Buzz had a great suggestion with reflectix but I couldn't find any at my local hardware stores today, but one good thing about the styrophoam is its super cheap!

Actually I did, and to my surprise neither had it, I looked on home depots web page and it lsaid its availability is subject to location or some garbage like that. I'm not done looking, I'm gonna go chheck out green thumb hydroponics tomorrow, maybe they will have some. Did you ever shop at green thumb when u lived down here? The owner is really cool, always gives me good deals, I just hope he remembers me. I haven't been in there in over a year!
