![]() | The setup i plan on using a box that is 4'dx5'wx7'h. 400w HPS on top and vertically in the corners 150+wt Fluro in each corner. Intake holes at the bottom. and for my 1st question. Could i leave the top of the box open and hang the light just below the lip so all of the light from the bulb goes in the box or cut a hole in the top of the box and set the light on the box. The box will have adjustable shelves so i dont have to move the light. I have a 12 Fan in the box blowing air up to the top of the box(exhaust holes). I also have a fan on top of the box to cool the Ballast. I have the plant in 1 Gal. pots. What is the Difference between a MH and HPS Ballast. And can u use one with other. How important are CO2 and Ozone Generators. Is any growing medium good (i.e Miracle Grow). or is better than the other. Thanx Again and sorry bout all the posts, Toker

I won't waste my breath if you have read the grow guide.... My only advice...don't sweat the CO2...for that small of space, you will have plenty if you used good ventilation or fans. And that doesn't even have to be outdoor venti. You and your other human/pet household members exhale plenty of CO2 to keeep them happy. Ozone gen only needed if they are stinky. I am growing some top notch buds now, final 2 weeks, and they only smell heavenly if I pinch one and smell it up close. But I have heard stories of stinky grows, so beware. (Is that Indica (skunk) that smells? or do some Sativas give off "girl smell" as well?)

![]() | How many plants do you have in there at the moment? Quote:

If so, you should put up some fake walls just around the plant. This will give more light to the plant because reflection will bounce off the walls and to the plant. Use flat white paint or mylar to line walls. Also, you will definitely be needing bigger pots for the future growth. Quote:

![]() | There is a differance between MH and HPS ballasts. I'm not sure on the specifics but I thing the HPS has and additional ignitor in its ballast or something like that. All I know is that you CANT interchange the two, and also you have to use the correct wattage ballasts with your lights or else they may explode. I'm not sure about the Miracle Grow, I've never used it myself but some people use it all the time and say it's great, some say it isn't. I think the best soil mixtures come from personal experience. Try something different in each plant and see which is best. I use Supersoil and mix it with perlite to add better drainage and get more air at the roots. Sounds like a pretty good grow box. Either way you hang the light sound good. If you have the top cut out you should get better ventilation and most of the heat should escape out of it. Anyways, good luck BC Budz | ||
