I have just completed a new grow room under my stairs in my house it is about 9x4x7 in size with a 400 watt hps. I have 2 high speed fans that blow plenty of air around in it and 1, 4" dryer duct, taking air out to the attic. I currently dont have a fan helping take air out yet but will be getting one. My question is what do I do about the 110 degree heat that is accumalating in the room when the light are on. Its only 80 degrees outside for highs and I am still getting a temp reading of 110 and the water temp in my Aero 20 system is reaching high levels also. ![]() | first off gettin an exhaust fan should help alot, need that fan. do you have your duct positioned at the top of your grow space? if not thats were it needs to be, and the intake near the bottom. that will make air movement and will help cool your space. get the fan setup and see how it does then.

![]() | intake = meaning an intake fan, a fan blowin air into your grow space. id just go to a dept. store, wal-mart, home depot, lowes. they have a good selection of fans that you could improvise with.

![]() | yes the reason your temps are so high is because the heat generated by the hps needs to be extracted. you have a grow room size of 252 cubic feet. Get a 265cfm exhaust and that will solved it all. fans can be brought from grow stores or a dept.store. good luck man.

![]() | Thats maybe too much fan? 60 air changes/hour will do the trick for sure. Noise will be your next problem ![]()

![]() | the reason i suggested a large fan is so you can control the temps with ease thru a thermostat or dimmer. go down to the local grow store or a place where they have a range of fans. have a look at them and then tell us what you can get. a 60cfm fan isnt gonna cut it i reckon.

![]() | no 60cfm probably wont work unless your intake is somewhat cold. you said 252 cubic feet Horiz said 265 cubic feet per minute fan do the division man-yeesh our schools today 1.05 /min = 63 air changes per hour Theres several cooling/air supply threads, this is not an uncommon problem ![]() Thermostats work good, just check contact rating of them and compare with your fan. you want thermo contacts higher or equal to fan amps and volts. I've used the controls from an old airconditioner successfully, works ok but a bit of deadband and not adjustable for deadband. Did I mention free though ![]()
