![]() | ok picture 3 "cold frames" 3 feet long, 8 inches deep and 14 inches wide. i use these for strawberries but this year i was thinking of taking the middle 1 digging it about 14 more inches deeper and give it wood walls, so everything will look the same outside. place 2 8 inch pots in there. the top of the cold frame is a clear plastic. i was wondering if i should use that thin pink sheet insallation or not? i want to put the plants out there when it gets into the 60's in the days and 40's in the night would this be ok? how could i keep more heat in? lets say its 55 outside what will it be? well i hope u all can understand what im trying to say, if not....... im high what more can i say :-)

![]() | Phaze....mj grows best in the 65-85 range. As the temp goes lower.....growth slows and when it gets into the 40's, it pretty much stops. So...IMHO....might be a little cool for 'em outside yet. cy ![]()

![]() | yes i understand that in the 40's is low..... thats why i was wondering what i could do to this "cold frame" to make it warmer.... ie put styrophome on the sides. maybe layer the bottom of it with some kind of heat trapping substance??? something that will capture direct sun in the day and then release the heat at night when needed. it should be hittin a warming trend sometime soon anyways. this is why i asked what the temp diff outside and inside is, that way i can gauge when it will be ok to plant.

![]() Nice idea cue, my aunt used to live in a big OLD house that was always cold in the winter...they used to heat big rocks up and put them on the end of the bed to keep toes warm ![]() mr g ![]()

![]() | no 1 has answered the temp question yet, i would imagine it would be somewhat the same as a greenhouse(for say it wasnt heated) for ex. if the temp was 55 and the coldframe was in direct sun what would the temp inside be like?
