![]() | i am going to be converting an old refrigarator into a grow box. i know i'm going to need some type of ventalation system and i have a fan thats almost silent and moves 55 cfms of air. i need to know about what temp i should keep the inside of the fridge and how i would control the temp. i'm going to be using 4 floresent lights...as of yet i don't really know what size i'm going to purchase. any ideas on lights is appreciated to. one idea i had for keeping the same temp was hookin a thermostat like on from a house up to the fan is that possible. anyone with good input please reply to this thanks blazin

![]() | Well your on the right track....How big is your fridge? Are you able to put a HPS light in it? You see in a fridge..you don't have a hole lot of space to play with...So to save on space and get more light at the same time...I'd go with a hps or mh light. You will be able to find out what your temp will be as soon as you have it all set up. Then if you need to make adjustments it'll be a snap. Look for a temp of 70 to 85. hope that helps ![]() mr g ![]()

i was at the local hardware store today and i found a hps security lamp for 70$..the only thing is, it was suggested that i use a 430 watt hps lights to light my refrigator and the lamp at the store said its a 430 watt lamp that uses 70 watts of electricity. does that mean thats the lamp i want or is it the 70 watt one thats not goning to be strong enough thanks blazin

![]() | I have a fridge also. It took me a while but I finally have it figured out for now that is. I have a 150W HPSw/built in ballast, reflector and in its own box with a glass cover. (Home Depot $82). I have a 64 CFM exhaust fan that vents through holes drilled in the top. I also have holes drilled in the bottom back so the exhaust fan pulls in fresh air. The temp is controlled with a 120V pre wired thermostat...great gadget. It can be found at , http://www.littlegreenhouse.com for $49. It is basically a thermostat that senses the heat and controls the relay to turn on fan. It plugs into the wall and the fan plugs into it. It is a job trying to regulate the temp with a timer. On for 30 off for 30. If the weather outside is cool....the plants with 30 min of cool air being sucked in get quite a shock. With 30 min of off.....it can get to about 95 - 105 degrees. Not good with the babies....the only way to go and feel confident is the thermostat. I hope this helps...

![]() | A regular ac thermostat does not run on 120V. You could use one but you would have to get a 120V relay, a Voltage reducer for the thermostat. Simple...the one I told you about is the least troublesome and probably the cheaper way to go.
