Here is my problem.....I have a 150W HPS in a fridge that I converted. The exhaust/cooling consists of a 65CFM on top venting out and one on the bottom pulling fresh air in. The system works fine if the weather is cool enough outside to bring the temp down eventually. It is really hard to cool down once it gets to a higher temp because the insulation in the fridge wants to keep the warmth in for a while making the fans stay on constantly and try to catch up with the heat build up. I know i can go to bigger fan but I think if I can keep the heat from the building up because of the insulation that the fans would be more efficient. I have them on a thermostat trying to keep between 70 and 80. I have no prob if the weather is cool enough. I was wondering if the mylar would reflect the heat back and away from the insulated walls so the fans could be more efficient. Has anyone had to deal with this prob? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What size is you fan and where is it on our fridge? I don't think putting mylar in will help. The hot air will still be inside. You have to look at a way of getting that hot air out....why not put the intake fan up where the exhaust fan is too. Make another hole and install the other fan. You don't need an intake fan cus the exhaust fan's will suck air into the space through that intake hole at the same rate they are pushing the air out. Try that and it'll work perfect

Hey Mr. Green,
BTW a great site this is. As I mentioned in my post the exhaust is 65CFM and is located rear top next to the lite. The lite is located in the top middle of the unit. The intake is located on the back wall at the very bottom. As it pulls air inward the flow is directed upward by using a 4" elbow siliconed to the front of the fan. The flow is directed directly toward the light. This is also a 65CFM intake fan. (I am beginning to wonder wether or not I should have done this project on a real working fridge, or install an ice maker with a gravity fed H20 line.LMAO). Today I put two 3" clip on fans on the door directed at the lite and the exhaust fan. It has only been an hour and I am going to check........OK. Maybe a little but the temp here is dropping as well. I am afraid the the summer time here is going to present another prob. BTW in case I didn't mention it, my fridge is outside. With temps here in the 90's in summer time, I don't think 90 deg. air will cool off the unit.Guess it will be time to move it into the utility room. There would be the answer....70 deg. being pushed in at the bottom and 95 - 100 being sucked out. I WILL CONQUER....!

Hay no prob for the info

But may I ask why you are growing in a fridge outside??!! If your idea is for secruity, then I can understand...but if not, get them out in the sun light! Nothing can compare to growing out side and it's real cost efficient

good grow'n
