Any cons regarding making my entire grow space air tight save for ventilation? It seems I have negative pressure in the area since the exhaust is greater than the intake (twin 7" exhaust with 8" intake)

I gotta question for ya. Why bother having an intake to start with? I mean if you have an exhaust fan in place...then naturly the intake will occur on it's own. I'd make a new hole and install that other fan as another exhaust ...that would give you some kick ass ventalation.

Just a thought

Sorry MrG, missed that this thread had a reply.

When I built my basement grow room a couple years ago, I had way more experience building than growing. I assumed that total management of airflow was important, so I nearly totally sealed it with caulk, spackle, tarps for a ceiling, etc...
I actually pretty much ruined one of my first crops cause of a complete lack of fresh air. Doh! I remedied that by cutting adjustable openings in the four sections that needed air(vegging, flowering, clone mother, drying).
So my issue is the air pressure. When I close the door to the room, I can hear the exhaust fans cycle up cause of the pressure change, even on low speed. Im concerned cause I have minor leaf issues that I havent been able to fix and are ongoing for about 4 crops now.

Smokin,

I recently added another exhaust fan on the top of my grow box in a closet, this was to cool down the temps from 92 after i added a second HPS. Anyways..... NOTHING happend, i couldnt figure out why i wasnt removing enough heat..... but lo and behold, i figured it out. i had used some cloths to keep the light from escaping out the bottom of the door.... you know, teh space between teh carpet and door bottom..... and Voi La, the temp is down to 80. You definitely need more circulation, keep the fans running and creat a hole in the construct somewhere that is big enough to let in what you are taking out.

Now, on to post a thread on how to build a light maze to keep that precious, and dangerous (suspicious) light leaking from teh bottom of the closet.

Allrighty, pulled out the trusty razor knife and stripped away all the floor caulking. Makes a noticable difference in the sound of the fans.
In the flower room, I have a 5" clip on pointed at the bulb and a 5" oscillating on the grow, above the 8" fan intake(Normally used as just a hole, I turn this fan on and my exhaust fan off when we have guests and I need to keep the normal exhaust smell better contained), all connected to the light timer.
My light on temp is 78-80. Off its 69.
Humidity is normally low, but have flooded recently a lot.

Thank you
