![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Bubba, PLains and Dark thanks for the encouragement and kind words. The weighin for the first grow came to 4 and 1/4 ounces, now vacuum stored in six 1 quart mason jars. Heck I don't know what to do with it all! Now it is time for the grow box updates/improvements. First everything got a fresh coat of paint. Then the old door gasket had to go. Just wasn't right for this application. Here is what I have replaced it with: Here is what it looks like installed: ![]() Next A new lift mechanism to move the lights up and down. (No light installed at this time) ![]() Last Lift Detail: The old faithful hygrometer gets in the picture too. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Last look at the light lift modification... ![]() Next More insulation!! If you are an attic grower nothing will make your life easier than lots of insulation. (This is the door, but the whole box got a new layer of the pink foam) There is not a total 1 3/4 inches of foam insulation on the box. That should keep temps nice & even in the worst of attic conditions. ![]() Here is the fan speed control, it isn't new, just had to show it off. ![]() This is how the fan is mounted, by running it at about half speed and using this mounting system it is silent. ![]() THought this might help clarify some things... ![]() THis is the other end of the air source, at the box.... ![]() This is the fresh air inlet inside the box... ![]() Well that about wraps it up folks. Hope it helps some of you stealth attic growers. If I could only have more headroom, but circumstances do not allow it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey. Great job on the box.. and the grow. I've followed this thread off and on.. as I'll be building a grow cab also. I plan to do it much like yours. Mine will be in the basement though.. bit different environment. Just a question. Your new lightmoving system. Does that go from the front to the rear of the cab.. with glass in the center? Hard to tell from the pics. Love the screen also. I want to do that for drying also. ![]() Great inspiration here.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Pink Floyd does rock!!! The cabinet is approx 2' wide by 3' deep so yes what you are seeing is from the front to the rear. A plywood frame, with aluminum 'L' inside the frame is what the light hood rests in. When you pull the ropes the frame goes up and, of course, the light with it. Oh, thanks for the nice words. Good luck with you basement project. Man I would love to have a basement and more headroom. I meant to put a new picture of the drying screen as it has been greatly improved too. Later I suppose... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | firpw, Thanks for visiting. I don't pinch tops. I employ LST (Low Stress Training) you can see pics in this thread of what it looks like or do a search on LST. Superbud halts streching during flowering. A search on superbud and reading about growing in general will help you understand the process better. Quote:

you have an awsome thread, an unbending attention to detail, and a talent for growing. too bad you didn't take clones, not all trimming is unworth the reward. you have greatness in you, i look forward to watching your future work. There isn't much my experience can tell you except that round flower pot use very little of the available space in a rectangular grow space. try custom made pots that fit the dimensions of your growspace, two 24"x18"x6" boxes would actually hold 10 gallons of soil each i have been a fifteen year cabinet grower from 1 sq. ft. to 20 sq. ft. my preferred cabinet is octigon 5 sq. ft., 30 inches wide by 5 feet tall internal dimentions. combination 250W hps / 8-45W floros. 17.5 gallons of dirt all for one plant. i will have to work your multilayered walls into my future designs.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | natural mystic first off let me just say thanks for the inspiration. i am currently in the process of putting my cabinet together, using pretty much exactly your design, except that i was able to increase the size. i was wondering if you could answer a question for me. i am interested in knowing what you used as a light trap where your power/light cords enter your cabinet? once again thanks for the inspiration and the details you've provided. swifty

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | swifty, glad this thread could be some help, thanks. You can use the grey expanded foam pipe insulation to fill in the power cord access hole. I had some lying around from a home improvement project. I cut a short length and wrapped it around the wires then stuffed it in the hole. I expect there are many other materials you could use. I sure wish I could have that box taller like you are making. Best of luck and good growing to ya'. Odin, Thanks for the kind remarks and suggestions. I agree round pots are not very efficent. I think a three gallon round pot is as large as I can use considering the height restrictions I am dealing with. I hope to start a White Widow grow soon and intend to grow more plants. Why grow more plants I don't know as I have more bud now than I could use for quite some time. I think I just enjoy the grow. Again thanks.
