![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well my little grow box continues to evolve... There has been an addition of active venting for the light reflector hood. This is the connection of a flexible aluminum duct to the light hood. This is the other end of the light hood duct. Air is drawn through the hood by means of the main exhaust fan. A pressure differential causes air to be drawn into the light hood air intak, through the hoo, then out the exhaust. It didn't seem necessary during the first grow but this way I can be sure heat near the light isn't an issue. THis pic is for those who have trouble visualizing the 'light shelf' arrangement. Here is a view of the 'cable management' system. I made it using 2" velcro. Remember neatness counts. The modifications have worked out beautifully. I especially like the new gasket. Adjusting the light shelf does take a bit of caution but there are stops in place in case of an accident to prevent the light from crashing down on the plants.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | smoken_kind, thanks! Bubba Lou, I vacuum sealed the buds after curing. I did try it during the cure for a while but frankly it was such a pain to unseal each jar, let the buds air a bit then re seal them that I just went with the traditional method we all use. For long term storage vacuum sealing works great for food so it should work great for cannabis too. I have the last harvest vacuum sealed and in the fridge for long term storage. I meant to add a picture of the new drying screen, Thanks for the support and kind words to all.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I never did subscribe to this journal.. almost missed the posts. I agree with Bubba.. that was a great pic of the light shelf. I like the attention to detail that you did with the construction of that box.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks, pfloydrocks420 Well I guess this is the last of the construction pics. There is a carbon filter in construction that I may add here later. For noe here is the drying screen. TO use it I remove the "light shelf" and attach the pully system hooks to the screw eyes on the screen frame. The exhaust and and a small oscillating fan take care of proper drying temps and air circulation.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For the grow pictured in this thread I used Dyna Grow Hi-N-Pro for vegitation and Dyna Grow Bloom for flowering. I also used Superbud to stop the streching during flowering. I am not using Superbud on my next grow as it stressed the plants a great deal, however it did stop the strech. Next grow I am switching to the Canna line of nutrients. Just because I like to try new things. Thanks for the nice words about the thread and good luck to you in your growing endevors.

![]() | NM, I just wanted to thank you for this, and your carbon filter, threads. I just came across them today, and they're a real encouragement. I'm a woodworker by hobby, building furniture, and your thread has given me the incentive to build one. Maybe this coming winter - but done in walnut so it can stand in the living room, with a self-contained carbon filter similar to yours built into the lamp area somehow. Needs some thought ... Anyway, several great threads from you and a real motivator to go out and make something. Thanks!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | keefhead, Woodworking has been a hobby of mine since I was big enough to hold a drill a bore a hundred holes in my Dad's workbench. If this box didn't have to be in the attic I would make a piece of furniture like you are thinking about. Thanks for the kind words too. I would really like to see your design and would be happy to share my thoughts with you at any time. Good luck ![]() As long as I am back here at my ancient thread here is an update... This summer the Max temp in the box has been 86~F and the Min has been 67~F (the min was an abberation due to too much AC and a cold snap). Average daily temps run 82 during the day to 72 at night. Still would like a little more height but just can't find a safe way to get it in my house.
