or: Keeping Up With The Rathbuten's

I was inspired by Rathbuten's remodel of his grow room and I have been "meaning" to do something about the grow room for a long time. So starting Saturday I began preparing the materials. I am also re building our kitchen sink and installing a tile backsplash so after I finished cutting tiles, I started cutting two 1/2" CDX plywood sheets and spray painting them Flat Latex White Exterior.

Ette helped me slide them through doorways and down our steep steps to the basement. We had some close tolerances but we had everything in place by the end of Sunday just before lights out.

The picture shows the East wall of the basement to the right. It's a concrete block wall. The black plastic wall is the North wall of the flower room. The first sheet of plywood is leaning against a floor joist.

Here's the second sheet of plywood resting against the South wall of the room. You can see the steepness of the steps on the right. The East block wall is to the left. Buds in between

Here's the North wall separating the flowers from the vegetables. The emergency blankets have faded and they were stuck on top of aluminum foil which was stuck on the 6 mil black plastic. The cords run a fan and heater or dehumidifier. Right now it is the dehumi running full blast and struggling to maintain 70% rh. We have been hammered with days and days of rain with more on the way. I dumped 5" of rain out last week. This Am was another 1.6" and storms are filling the radar.

The pass through opening is directly behind the cords. The first plywood sheet is leaning in place on the far left.

That is looking good. I don't fully understand the part about the kitchen sink but oh well. So did you just decide to change you setup out of the blue, Or is this some secret Moderator conspearisy Na, Anyways keep on improving and a'growin. Peace

PSops, just read it in more detail, I still don't get the kitchen sink part but, I see why you are changing your growroom, Good Work!

It's all part of a burst of energy and remodeling fervor here at the buzzmobiles. The sink project just led me to go right on downstairs while I had all my tools handy. And here's is a secret: It's a huge Moderator conspiracy masterminded by Huge Moderators. You have to sign a contract to when you get a Mod Hat. No more plastic walls.

I'm standing in the flower room looking at the veggie room and the nasty plastic is on the floor and the plywood is standing by. Note spray bottle - ever present weapon in the whitefly war.

I like this shot. I am in the veggie room with my back in the Northwest corner. The two sheets are ready and the girls are all atwitter talking back and forth to each other. There were some touching family reunions what with all the mothers, grandmothers, daughters and all.

This is the height of construction demolition and clutter. I'm standing in the NE corner of the veg room looking towards the SW corner of the flower room. There's stuff piled and cluttered and jumbled at this point. And I'm taking pictures!!! My fan and dehumi are against the West wall which is also concrete block. I smeared my block walls with a DryLock paint that came in powder form. It was messy but it brightened up the walls and sealed it to boot. I plan to paint another coat of Flat White Latex later.

I started moving plants around again after this shot to maneuver the other piece of plywood into position.
