![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Howdy: I was impressed with naturall_mystics's grow box, which if sealed with some caulk and vented far away from the intake for your sensimilla area, seems like it would be great. I'm sure you've seen it, but I'm very impressed with the thoroughness of his construction details... -c-

When building a box cabnet I have found that building a complete 6 sided box and then cutting the top or in your case the side two inches off with a skill saw is a good way to make a perfict door when the two pieces are placed back together they fit perfectly and the flaws fit each other. Henge with a piano hinge and wala. I f you have any sort of products you need to store in the same cabnet just cut a little deeper into the box when cutting the lid or door off and there will be a spot for shelves like your frig door for storage. When made from 3/4" bc plywood there is no requirement for extra bracing and be sure to elmers glue all joints. To go one step further a thin strip of 1/8" paneling cut at 4" wide that is tacked to the inside parimeter of the door 2" in will slip right inside of the box 2" when the door is closed providing a good light and air seal which in turn helps in controling air exchange of box. My comunication skills of an idea are weak so feel free to PM if there is any questions. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Heya JG.. Are you planning on using this for mothering plants.. or just putting the specific male and female plants in there.. letting them flower out and pollenate the female? If so, then you will definitely want negative pressure inside the cabinet.. so you would want to restrict the intake area, while allowing as much as possible for exhaust. I would think that a good filtering system would be necessary, as well as routing the exhaust well away from the rest of your growing area. As I don't know if a DIY filtering system would take care of the pollen. I would think if you are not flowering out for the specific purpose of getting large colas.. but seeds rather.. then I would use flourescent lighting as this would pretty much eliminate heat issues. I would think a 2.5ft X 2.5ft X 4ft box would be sufficient for this purpose. It would leave the plants plenty of room, yet be very manageable. But then again.. that's just my vision of what you might be looking for. I also agree that Naturall_Mystic had a wonderful plan for his cabinet building. Good luck on the breeding. Although I am a bit suspicious about the 4ft height restriction.. knowing the plants you grow. ![]()

Floro`s are my main choice. I probably will line 4 sides completely with them. Lets say 20 of them? Wont be in the same room with the others, Yes I have 4 female soma #10 sprouts already and 4 ak mixed about 1 inch high today. What sized floros are suggested??? And do I need that many. This is for breeding only. Veg to about 8 inches and then flower. One 4 inch intake fan and a inline 4 inch exhaust fan... JG

![]() ![]() Well.. you know I don't have the utmost of experience.. but I would think that you would want one 2-bulb 4ft fixture in each corner as a minimum for lighting. You could probably do with less.. but I think they'd stretch a lot more with less. I would also go with passive intake to create a negative pressure environment. Otherwise you could end up pushing pollen out of any available crack in the cab. That could be a bad thing in an uncontrolled environment. Best of luck.

![]() | an idea for planters is making them square and shallow, 1 cubic foot of dirt is about 7 gallons. so 2.5' x 2.5' x 6" would hold about 22 gallons of dirt. i have been using this type of planter and it works great. if the cab if for breeding only, go with compact floros, the are cheap, cool, and take little space. i just found these flat cf's(less than 1" thick) 6"square, 55 watts, 4000 lumins at home depot. the new bulbs are inspiring me to build a new box
