![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | OK, through reading this forum for awhile about IR and security issues with grow rooms, I have come up with my own idea for a grow room project for when I move into my own house. Check it out and tell me what you guys think are some areas I could improve the design. I thought of this design with smell, and IR issues in mind. Note that though the design is complex, I will have plenty of room. 1. Grow room is in basement in middle of room 2. Room is 6ft square 3. Made with plywood and caulked to minimize leakage, though vents are cut out on top and bottom of ceiling and floor, even has weatherstipping around door 4. Another wall is built around the perimeter of the room with an a/c wall unit inside. THis cools down the interior grow room and further isolates smell from rest of house. This is also sealed with caulk and weatherstripping. 5. Several neg ion generators are placed in perimeter room and outside in basement to kill smell 6. if needed, fresh air in take hose is run into room with electric fan for new air 7. whole operation is run with electric generator to avoid electric company noticing Would IR be interested in the heat from a genereator? Where would be the best place to keep this generator? Keep in mind for those that would answer inside the house that these do create quite a bit of Carbon Monoxide gas

![]() | Wow!!....youhave a pretty secure setup there. this is just my opinion.....but....of course the genny has to go outside because of the exhaust like you said. Do you live in town? If so...the noise of a constantly running gen. might attract attention. making the gen a security risk. Unless you are using several 1000 watt lights or LOTS of smaller lights.....the electric company wont bother you. They investigate sharp and dramatic peaks in usage. Have some things around that use a lot of elect....like dryers, a/c, welding machine, portable kiln. Also....run your lights at night.....so the meter reader wont see the meter whizzing away in the middle of the day. Well...at least while you are on 12/12 hope this helped you a little good luck! cy ![]()
