I hope this thread goes on and on and on.... I want to start a new thread where all my H.C. brothers talk about and post picks of thier grow rooms and cabs. How thier vented, lighted, built, cost and cost saving ideas.what works for keeping temps down and what doesn't work. I've built a clone/germ box and a seperate veg space that keeps temps around 80F I'll be posting pics of both Right now I'm Building a 2000w Flowering room, It is 6 and a half by 8 feet by 8 feet, 48 sq. ft or 384 ft. cubed.Basically I partitioned my garage and added 3 10X10" vents for passive intake from the inside of the garage. on the adjacent wall I'll mount a 465cfm dayton exhaust w' carbon scrubber (probably DIY). I have two 1000w HPS w/ coolsun reflectors that will be aircooled with a 70cfm NuTone bathroom exhaust fan w/ 3" exhaust port. from that I'll run 3" ducting to a 6-3" reducer that is attached to the light 6" ducting from light to light and 6" ducting and a 6" in-line fan out the other side of the light that exhausts to the outside. Then I ran a 2X4 across the top of the room, attached four 100 lb pulleys for the 2 1000w HPS. I'll be useing 120 lb nylon rope to hoist and lower the lamps, Work perfect!! make sure to have something solid to tie off to. Well as soon as I recieve the lights and fan (they should both be here early next week) I'll run test on the temps. and report back soon. enjoy the picks below.Hope to be hearing from all of you guys out thier old and new!!!Peace!!! Pic 1:3 passive air intake vents and 70cfm intake fan for light cooling. Pic 2:Pullies for lifting light easily. Pic 3:6" ducting exhaust without the inline fan (coming soon tho) for light cooling. Pic 4:Reducer used to connect intake fan w/ 3" fittings to light w/ 6" fittings. Pic 5: outer wall of room. Needs paint!!! Pic 6:General area.

Heres a few pics of the box where I germ and clone. It is 30 inches tall 23 inces wide and 15 inches deep. I installed two 65w flourex lights and three 5 inch pc fans 1 for exhaust and 2 for intake. My temps in the box are around 80-83 f. I lined the inside with mylar and added a digital temp/rh monitor.Pics below. Peace Pic 1:Clones in areoponic system Pic 2:Clone box with intake fans and temp/RH monitor Pic 3:I added cardboard around the fan housing to block light my plants are flowering right next to this box. about to change. Pic 4:Hole at the top for exhaust fan.

good idea for a thread... its been done.. but still good new folks can't have too many examples to look at my current project is a nanogrow... i had a tiny mom box that i am modifying for experimentations sake so i wanted to experiment with flor lights that have the right light spectrum for growing (most of our HID's [even 'horticulture' HIDs] waste alot of light due to the output being in the wrong color spectrum.. furthermore, none of them produce UV-B radiation that is present in natural sunlight and are supposed to aid in trich development, i say it has to be good for the whole cycle since it is present in much higher amounts than any bulb can produce in the great outdoors) these flor's are mostly made for aquariums and reptiles.. and get pricey... so instead of dropping $300 on enough to make a experiment out of my normal cab i had the idea of getting less lights in a smaller area to offset the cost while keeping the same lighting setup (in essence) the mother box i am working with is a mere 1 square foot x 2feet tall... before i hear a bunch of 'thats too small' BS.. keep in mind that entire hieght is head room for the plant.. since there is a hole in the bottom of the cab.. and the cab stands on top of a 3 gal SoiDro bucket.. and after all it is a NANOgrow, it's supposed to be tiny ["it's not the size mate.. it's how you use it" ]i have yet to modify the box so i will post pics of it sometime over the next day or 2.. along with spectral graphs of my lights... i will be using vertical tube flors... 2 zoomed flora suns.. one zoomed ocean sun.. and one full spectrum UV-B terrarium lamp... i should end up with 70-90 watts of flor light in my 1sf.. but the adjusted light spectrum means that my plant will be using a higher percentage of the available light than plants in standard flor / HID systems got your 2kW room over there.. i had to represent the (extreme) opposite end of the spectrum ![]() | ||
