that would be around $153 USD, in which case I assume you are looking into using fluros for lights, as an HID system would run you more than that $180 Canadian. So, Buy the fluro lights that you need (based on room size, etc.) and then spend the leftover on your soil, etc. You really don't have to spend any money on pots - you can be a little creative and use plastic cups, etc. Read the grow guide thoroughly, then use the search button if you have other questions. There's a ton of info on this site. Give us info about where you intend to grow - what size is the room? Or will it be a cab? More info is needed. ![]()

![]() | hey timber.. you may want to consider purchasing some (compact flurescents lights)CFL's and fixtures. You can get a 42watt (equals 150watt) cfl + fixture for 10-20 dollars at a hardware store.. They are grat for beginners and pros.. Plants grow great under them.. AS your plant gets bigger you can add lights to your system.. Now if you want an easy easy grow, get a 3-5 gallon pot, some miracle grow soil and a cfl. Miracle Grow is not the favorite for many growers.. LOL.. but for a beginer it is amazing. the next thing you should consider getting is a ph tester/adjuster.. General Hydroponics makes one that you can purchase for 15-20 dollars. It is easy to use. good luck

![]() ![]() | well last month i got my light 400 watt hps for 170 dollars delivered to my door. and right now i am in the same boat as you are , have a bit of funds and going to upgrade, the light i have is damn good, so now going to move my grow from my closet, to a cabinet, deciding to buy a regular cabinet and modify it, or go with the one from inside sun. and also get a soil ph meter, thats what i'm going to get also tomorrow. when i went out to my loca harware stores, lol they dont have anythnig fox farms, or a ph meter, going to have to drive to the local big city 30 mins or so. my advice, get a light, 400 watt hps, i can only recommend that because it has done me so well

![]() | it depends on the size of grow you want if you only want to flower out 1 or 2 plants for a personal stash than you definately CAN afford a low power hps .. like a 70 or 150 for around $50 US or less... i have grown for years with my 150 and it does a fine job you can buy cfl's for cheap.. but the amount of them that you will eventually end up adding will add up.. and you would probably be better off to start with an hps if you get teh 3 part fox farm nutes that too should total under $50 US.. closer to $30 if you only get grow big abd big bloom (tiger bloom ins't necesary) pots are incredibly cheap... i have never paid more than $2 for one.. .soil shouldn't be too expensive either... you should be able to grab allthat plus a little mylar for coating your walls and be all set what are you planning for ventilation ? ... the size ofthe space really makes a difference too the more info you can give us the better ![]()

![]() | Hi Timber, I don't think you should grow your plants 4 feet tall.. that is just to tall for a 175 watt bulb.. you should consider growing them 8-15 inches tall and then flowering them (12/12).. when they are done growing they will be about, 20-30 inches tall. You can do all this in 1-3 gallon containers.. no problem.. Even if you had a 1000watt bulb i wouldn't suggest you let your plants get 4 feet tall.. : ) keep us posted : )
