Carbon Filter Big Enough?
permalink

i just ordered the biggest c/f i could afford in my budget...its an:

EcoPlus Carbonaire 6" Filter (max CFM 500)
Flange: 6", Height: 22", Diameter: 15.75", Carbon Weight: 40lbs

the room is 8x8x8 with a 1000w MH, and im growing a combo of AK and BB( gonna TRY to keep an even canopy with training)

i have a 465cfm squirrel cage blower...will this filter be enough to clear the odors, i kno ak is a smelly strain...

if not i will vent out of the hot water heaters exhaust (if this will work?)

thanks

BB & AK are smelly strains, I would suggest perphaps an ozone generator also. But your cfm per scrubber sounds good. try to keep it below the max (obviously)

more people should be able to help, as I have grown NOTHING yet.

yea drop...id like to get my hands on the inline duct ozone generators, there pretty cool...but i found a temporary solution...

i am venting into the bolier room with the c/f filter on the exhaust side of the blower... there is an extremely powerful negative ion generator set to 3000sq/ft in the tiny boiler room and a 8" exit hole on the other side...

this odor killing room serves two purposes...1) kills odor (obviously) 2) creates back pressure lowering the cfm of the blower slightly...

ill have to wait a few weeks to see if it works but ill let you guys kno...
