Hey, new to the site and just want to say great community out there. Just wanted to ask for tips on a specific strain that would serve best for a SW Floridian climate. All posts welcomed. :bong2:

Budding in spring?

Anyone here ever tried it?
Take a plant from inside just after the last frost and chunk her outside and let her bud before summer comes around?

I'm thinking about trying it. It only freezes here in january and february. I have some sativas just coming into bud outside right now. They'll be done by the end of december, hopefully before the first frost.

But can I start a few more for the springtime? it'd be sweet to have some killer outdoor buds in march or may, and you can guarantee you won't be caught by flyovers.

Speaking of flyovers, I had a large army helicopter fly right over my outdoor plot yesterday. He flew past going super fast, then turned around and make a quick loop around the general area. He was so low that if he was looking he would have been able to see them. He never came back, and never stopped or slowed down. And I kept hearing helicopters around town for the rest of the day. I figured it was hurricane-related. There's an army reserve a few miles away. What do you guys think?

Im gonna be growing guerilla style next spring and summer and wanted to buy some good seeds. Does anyone have an opinion on what the best strain of seeds for this particular grow would be?? Im sure it would be a hardy, self sustaining one. Any opinions welcome and appreciated. ;)

Light cycle for transplants

Hello-

I don't have much experience with starting under lights and then transplanting, but I would like to try. I have done a few seasons of planting seeds outside in the spring and letting them go normally.

My growing season isn't really friendly outside until early June. It occured to me that perhaps I should just wait until the Solstice, or is there no advantage in that?

In my area, lets say the solstice has 15 hours of light. Should I raise the plant with 15 hours from the start? Or start with normal indoor timing of 18 hours? I am thinking it would be best to have the plant flower about the same as I would indoors, or a little later... with the plant 1-2 feet tall at transplant.

I haven't seen this kind of thing addressed in the "how tos" I have seen. Any pointers would be appreciated.

thanks!

I found mold on one of my plants

What would you recommend? The trichs are about 80 % cloudy and 20 % clear. Should I chop them now to prevent the mold from spreading. There is no more rain in the forecast for at least a week, the high temp. for today is 54 and the low for tonight is 42 but tomorrow it will be sunny and a high of 70. I cut off completely the buds that were infected. I am going to check them twice a day for any more spreading. I have 6 plants and only one of them had the mold.

any and all advice welcome
thanks

I am a beleiver in using fishing line to keep deer away

When I started my grow this year I was aware of deer being in the area and was worried about them eating my plants so I read up on it and heard about using fishing line. Anyway I ran a line at about 2 feet and one at about 3 feet. I went to check them this morning and I assume it was deer had broken the fishing line. It looked like they hit the line and and got spooked. they made it through but it spooked them so bad that they tore through another area to get out. My plants weren't touched I am happy to say.

I have restrung the area with an even stronger line this time. But I'd have to say it worked just as they said it would. I wonder if they will remember this, and stay away, I hope so.

Thanks GC you saved my plants

growing in november, san diego

Hey guys, brand new to this forum.

I live in the San Diego area, and was wondering if it was still at all possible to grow herb outside that could be harvested and used..

Daytime temperatures will stay in the 60's and 70's, and night time temps drop to the 50's. The skies are never cloudy, always perfect blue sky, so it's constant sunlight, even in the winter.

I've found a secure spot, and am waiting on getting seeds.

Possible, or no?

Any help would be appreciated.
