X18 like Pine Tar Kush is an old indica line derived from Pakistan import that was introduced to Northern California in the early 1980's.

Bred for many years by my very able friend "the chemist". X18 is pure, never outcrossed,
and breeds true for many traits. The unique sour apple/pear/citrus smell/flavor is very strong (far from subtle) and nearly fixed in the line.

70-80% of the line is characterized by this flavor, with the occasional extreme skunky phenotype as well.

Pictured is Raco's cut, which is a good example of the described dominant flavor (I've smoked this cut), but less than a stellar example of X18's yielding ability in my experience.

X18 is variable in regards to yield and capable of putting together much larger colas than this."

Just ordered it from the Boo'

I got PTK, Deep Chunk and now X18.

Is the "60 days from seed to harvest" they say about LR fairly reliable? I'm holding off on phase 2 of my experiment for a bit in hopes that if I plant in Dec, harvest would be on a specific 2 week window in Feb.
So the 400w has finally become the veg light, and got two new 1000w hps lamps and deciding whether to get magnum xxxl hoods or if best to hang lights vertical

So now that the flower room will be 2000w, I hear people are pulling 1-2lbs off a single 1000w bulb, so if this is true id like to aim for 2.5-3lbs if i can.

So i have a wide room, 7.5-8' tall, all build it with white plastic..Will be doin promix, organic soil blend in 3 or 5gall pots

So all i need now is a strain. Most liklly from attitude. I would like a strain that finishes in 7-9 weeks, 10 the most, but im looking for a lady that can really pack on the weight. More yeild means the less i have to grow, and more for me to enjoy..

SO this is where im hoping some people can chime in and throw out their two cents on what strain have high yeilds. Im looking at chocolope right now as i hear the yeild is very large, and hear himalayan gold can be massive yeilder, but looking for other recommendations too

New Blue Diesel & Anesthesia

I'm growing some new (to me) genetics and was wondering if anybody else had experience with these ladies. I read about *ndshadows* problems with Anesthesia hermies, but haven't found anybody else growing this stuff. Or at least not talking about it... or maybe I'm not searching correctly... anyway...

New Blue Diesel is from Breeders' Choice (exclusive to sanniesshop.com, I think) and is advertised as a Blueberry Indica x NYCD cross. Bred by sannie and knutsel. I also am growing one of the freebee beans, The One x Chronic/NYCD.

Anesthesia is also under the Breeders' Choice brand and was bred by *Wazzup,* who I've seen here and there on GC. Advertised as being Afghani x Skunk/Herijuana.

1st pic is of the grow tent. 3 plants in a 3'x3' space under a 400W HPS and 6 26W CFLs in the corners. Vegged from seed about 6 weeks, we're at about 30 days flowering right now. As you can tell, the plant on the left is towering over the others and also occupies over 50% of the canopy space. That's the New Blue Diesel. I've never seen such explosive growth in flowering in my limited experience. 2nd pic is a closer view, showing the wide branching and just plain size of the plant.

3rd pic is the Anesthesia. It's about 2/3 the height of the NBD and about 1/2 the width. It's not a non-vigorous plant but sitting next to the Diesel makes it look puny. What's remarkable to me is the amount of glands on the bud leaves. Again, I've never seen frost like that in my limited experience.

The freebie plant is decent, a little smaller than the Ana. I think I see some of the budsites developing a purple color.

If the Diesel yields proportionally to its size with smoke that lives up to its lineage, I think I may have found an all-time keeper. And hell yes, I took clones.

Anybody else growing NBD or Ana? Seen any smoke reports?

Hola lurkers and squatters alike!

O.K., wtf is up with this strain? Everything I have read says it is supposed to be short and compact, but with good girth and vigor? Mine are ridiculous tall...not tall like they stretched, as the stem's are nice and thick and the leaves are nice and husky. I mean I am a little under/over 4 weeks of veg and have plants well over 19"!!!! Can someone please enlighten me on on this? I have come across some opinion saying that the strain is known for its "size," but damn.

Here is my regime of nutes, blah, blah, blah...

*Hempy (70% Perlite & 30% Vermiculite
Canna Cogr CoCo
Sugar Peak Hydro-Fusion (1 part)
FloraNectar
FloraBlend
DiamondNectar
Floralicious Plus
CalMag Plus*

Any input is appreciated!

Trainwreck & GDP

Recently picked up a couple bags, about 7 grams of each. Trainwreck and Grand Daddy Purple, the GDP didn't really have much color on the outside, but man did it smell & taste like GDP, the high was almost too overwhelming (at least after a few bowls of TW already smoked) but it is def one of my fav indicas for the price. but more important I also grabbed 7 gs of the Trainwreck and man does it bring back memories, kind of reminds me of a mix of c99 and herer in apperance but the smell is almost a berryish pine, the taste of the TW wasn't as good as GDP by far, not even close to what it smelled like IMO. I like TW as a daytime smoke as it's more of a cerebral high and I don't get anxiety at all, but I also don't get really tired. The high of the TW (at least this batch) reminds me of a lot of some Island Sweet Skunk ~ nice stoney high, but no couch-lock type symptoms. The GDP is a more medicinal type MJ if ya ask me, more indica.. definitely strong bud. taste is a lot more like berries and better than the TW. Overall they were both good strains to smoke, but both have completely different highs so I smoke the TW in the morning/throughout the day, and I smoke the GDP at night time or when I get home from work to help relax. Just wanted to post this lil review and a couple pics, my camera isn't the greatest (or maybe its me who sucks at taking them :p). The TW is the more sativa buds that shine, and the GDP is the buds that are more indica (that shine too :D)

Help with Strain Selection

Hi. :)

I'm looking for a fairly easy indoor strain to grow that is hardy and fairly mold/disease resistant.

I also intend to breed my first grow of it so I have my own seed bank - so ability to breed is important. (I will journal)

Finally I am looking for a head high - not a body high (I don't think). I always get confused at the standard terms so let me describe it in my own words....

Just today I smoked a hard hitting herb that gave me the "lifts" as it first hit. I didnt really like it. I was kind of dizzy and short of breath - no worries, I can get through that with little paranoia - but it's still not particularly enjoyable. The dull headed hazy feeling lasted for hours and I felt out of it for the rest of the day. It does help with pain but not so much nausea. Being short of breath is the worst.

In contrast, some herb leaves me feeling alert and bright. Not short of breath at all. I guess the best word I can use is "lit". It's as if the light from the grow is in my head and pours out of my skin in the form of rainbows. Music, food, comedy, sex - it all tickles my senses. Pain and nausea are forgotten. My lungs feel fresh as if i could even excersise - instead of "man I better sit down". Unfortunately, this type of high typically doesnt last long, but there is no hangover and I don't feel like a "burnout" 4 hours later when I'm trying to be professional or whatever.

Thanks for reading. Can anyone suggest an easy growing, hardy, easy breeding strain that matches the 2nd paragraph and won't leave me dizzy and short of breath?

Thanks as always!!! :afro:

Machu Picchu

Hey all, a month ago I was looking though some older seeds I've collected over the past few years and found a strain called Machu Picchu. Has anyone heard of it? I got it from some seedbank years ago but never grew it. I have a few growing and it looks to be a sat/ind hybrid. Moderately fat leaves but not pure indica. I know I got a lot of seeds from a guy named Gypsy at seeds direct in the UK. Maybe from there? I've come up empty on web searches.
Oh well, I love a good mystery!
Can't wait to see how they turn out. They're about 4 weeks old right now and about 10" tall. Going to flower in the next couple weeks.
Cheers:D

Some complaints regarding lack of potency

Ive grown a few well known strains in the past year:

chronic
ak47
g13xhash plant

and now my ssh, which is not dried and cured yet so i haven't sampled it.

The chronic wasn't that good at all.
Light leaked on my ak47 so It never really reached it's potential
then my g13xhashplant went all the way to fruition. I think it lasted 60 days before it was ready

The point is that I am very disappointed with the potency of the above. The g13xhashplant is ok but not the mind blowing stone i was hoping for. I was really really disappointed with the chronic

I have og kush #18 coming up and but if my SSH isn't potent then something else is going on other than the genetics.

Anyone had the hashplant g13 strain and been disappointed with it?
