Its sad to see a forum with no threads in it so here we go! I dont really know if cooking fits in arts and crafts but why not right?
This is some cannagrits. I cant really give you a recipe cuz I dont measure but I use a standard grits recipe, the only difference is I add extra sugar, 1 dash cinnamon, 1/4 dash ground ginger and 1/4 dash ground nutmeg. Instead of regular milk or cream(whatever the recipe calls for) I use an infused half&half.

The second one is a Thanksgiving Centerpiece.:D

regulating potency with cooking

Hello-

I am not much of a cooker, I far prefer smoking or vaping. However, I have a patient who is interested in some baked goods. I know the general concepts and have successfully made cookies, but I am always nervous that the effects will be too strong or not strong enough.

Also: for ideal medical delivery, which parts of the plant are best to use? I assume it is about the same as for bubblehash: you could use buds, but frosty trim is just as good, and large fan leaves are useless. Correct?

Is it a good rule of thumb that a "dose" = 2x what one would smoke? So if I want a cookie to be like smoking a quarter of a gram, I'd want a half gram in each cookie, so a recipe making 12 cookies would use 6 grams. Is this a fair guideline?

I've looked around a bit and will continue to do so, but if there is a good document about this, I would love a pointer to it.

Thanks!

Cannabis cookies 101

After three harvests here I suppose it's time I performed some community service. Here is my guide to making chocolate chip cannabis cookies. I'm no expert chef but this method worked for me and was fairly simple.

*Ingredients:*

Flour
Eggs
Salt
Sugar
Brown Sugar
Vanilla extract
Baking Soda
Chocolate chips
Cannabis butter

*Utensils:*

Mixing bowls
Cookie sheets
Measuring cups
Large spoon
Spatchula
Strainer
Hand mixer (optional)

*Step 1:* synthesizing the canna butter

Take your leaves and grind them up. I used an herb grinder just like I would for my bud. I like to separate the leaf stems from the fingers into different piles and then mix them in together. (Picture 1)

Next you need to melt the regular butter. I threw into two four packs for a triple batch of cookies. Once the butter is all melted your ready to apply the trim. (Pictures 2, 3, 4)

After dumping in the material stir it thoroughly and continuously until it starts to boil. Once your mixture comes to a boil stir it for another minute or two.....but not too long. (Picture 5)

You are now ready to strain. I recommend putting on a glove with your strainer hand. Pour the mixture into the strainer generously but catiously. Strain and then take a spoon and press the mixture tight in the strainer for one good last drizzle. (Pictures 6 and 7)

Your mixture has now served it purpose and you have a strainer full of green strained gunk. I threw mine into the garbage and suggest disposing of quickly it emits a peculiar smell.

You now have your canna butter synthesized. Allow to sit for a few minutes and let the air bubbles cool its hot. Once the liquid looks clear and still put it into the fridge to solidify. (Pictures 8, 9, 10)

I left mine in the fridge overnight and cooked with it the next day.

Time for step two: cooking. ------------------------> Continued
