The new Mystery on the block!

found this thing growing next to my plant. two possibilities, 1) a random weed, 2) I was a little overzealous with my sprout and pulled her seed helmet off, I noticed the seed shell wasn't completely empty and had a little bit of stuff on the inside. I left the shell on the soil and it found its way under the soil at some point. I'm thinking there could be a sliver of a chance that it sprouted from this. damaged embryonic material could have had it's DNA damaged as well, and this could be some genetic throwback of cannabis.

possibility #2 would be frikking awesome, but I don't think it's likely. anywho, here are pics so far.

Here's what I've observed. The leaf structure is very different. One leaf each, but serrated like the mj. I don't understand how or why, but the 'glandular trichomes' (as I've been referring to them) cover the plant entirely and make the leaves very water repellant. Only if I can get an ultrafine mist will any water stay on them, even then it's still beaded and rolls off with ease. the stems of the leaves are reddish, just like the mj. and as far as my ignorant eye can judge, the main stem structure and growth of leaves/branches off it look somewhat similar to the mj.
a few of the baby leaves have died off. with mj dying leaves start to yellow slowly and then start turning that dead orange/brown color. these slowly turned into a bright vivid yellow color, with crimson appearing along the edges

This picture resembles an eggplant seedliing.

This picture reminds me of a grape vine seedling.

Those are my two best guesses.

interesting guesses. better than mine! haha!

how would such a seed end up in my soil? for that matter...how exactly do they 'harvest' soil?

roots have been poking through the bottom of the peat cup since the beginning of this week. I've just been snipping them because it hadn't been watered in a week and they probably went straight down for more water without going sideways much. I'll transplant today or tomorrow, and we should see some quick growth
