Well, not sure about where you live, but where I reside we got our "come-uppins" as far as the weather is concerned...March started out in a very peaceful/warm fashion, and pretty much ended the same. Then came April...warm and beautiful...dog woods and red buds [trees, okay??] Daffodils and tulips...lots of other vegitation...even some columbine...Peach/Apple/Pear trees...[even our flowering plum trees...] AND THEN...WHAM!!!!! 3 nights [no, not "Three Dog Night"] of mid to low 20 degree temps, and temps not getting above the 50 degree area. I wish you could have seen our dogwood, which was storm damaged last year, and recovered nicely. I am so PO'ed @ myself for not taking a photo of it in all of it's "Glorius Canus"...wood...Did I screw up on that... Well, I'm sure I'm not alone. I've heard many horror stories on the fruit/veg crop this year throughout the mid/lower south US [and we're advised to eat at least 5 fruits/vegs a day, right?...] Do "Poptarts" qualify as a fruit?? Nice thing my current "crop" is indoors...anyone else having landscape problems??? Nelson

![]() ![]() | We were expecting low 30s/high20s last week or so. My radishes and beans turned out ok in the 35 degree weather. ALthough the beans got some leaf burn. My potted Mary plant surprised me over the course of the last 2 weeks. I've been unable to feed or water during that time and had a difficult time finding her and was unable to find her 1 gallon sister buried in leaves. So don't hide too well. No signs of damage. Lots of new leaves, strong stems and lots of roots too. Although a few yellow leaves were on the bottom. Had my baby tomatoes and watermelons inside with me during the cold times.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My hostas look like stewed cabbage. Lost all the blooms on my azaleas. Probably will have no fruit on my dwarf peach. Peonies came through ok and most of the bulbs are still blooming. Glad I hadn't put out any crops yet, they are still inside under lights and in windowsills. We got down to about 20F saturday and sunday nights a week ago. Where I live we have lots of apple orchards (largest apple producing county in the state, 6th in the US) and they are expecting a 100% loss this season.
