they are not the seeds your looking for, those are sterlized and 99.9% of the seeds won't germinate. you can order them all over the place online.

Earlier this year I bought some poppy pods to make [mod note: no method of use discussion] with, i gathered at least 10,000 seeds, I tossed them on the ground in a semi-random location figuring i'd just wait and see if they would actually come up because it really wasn't the best ground for the seeds, but its pretty remote and easily accessible, and camouflaged by other plants which was just a necessary evil., well about 20 of them did, these are pics. I just hope I don't OD. =)

Here's the straight scoop from the Head Bug. If you want to grow the poppy this is the place to discuss the cultivation of the plant. This is NOT the place to lecture anyone about the merits/dangers of opiates.

Grow the flower and shut the fuck up.

And I mean that in the nicest way.

Here's what I don't like about Poppy plants. Unless you are growing the California Poppy, touching the seed will harm you. Hell, some can even kill you. Go over to Afghanistan and you will see the farmers using gloves. If they didn't they wouldn't make it through their first day.

Can you provide any links to reliable sources confirming that? AFAIK it is completely untrue that any seed from any plant in the family Papaveraceae is harmful to humans on contact. Papaver somniferum seeds are an economically important food product.

ill second that, I've eaten alot of them and i'm not dead. they are probably wearing gloves because all gardeners like to wear gloves. if i had to pick poppies i'd want to wear gloves, if anything i would think they would wear them to protect themselves from getting opium all over there hands from harvesting, it would probably absorb thru thier skin thru the day and they'd be so high they wouldn't be able to harvest anymore poppies. and that would pobably make thier bosses mad.
