anyone have experience with the giganteums? i was thinking about growing some [Edit: see PG] i have heard you can do this indoors with a grow light. anyone know if you can set the photoperiod for them to bloom at about a foot tall and not effect potency? i think the veg/flower is the opposite of weed at 12/12 then 18/6. thanks for any help you can give me. erowid is loading very slow for me and poppies.org was ok but not a lot of info.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I grow them for sentimental value. Gigantems are a very forgiving strain of poppies. I have never grown poppies indoor, for I have no need too. Poppies require very little attention throughout their life span. I usually find places with a sandy like soil have way better germ rates than do more compact soils. Like OD said poppies are controversial because they contain morphine, but they are legal to grow all over the world. I love the flowers the produce, so beautiful when you have like a 100 of them right along a field in full bloom. Makes this place a little nicer to look at.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For most matters concerning poppy cultivation, despite the questionable topics at hand I usually use google to help me with all my poppy questions. But if you would like the advice of some real poppy growers go to www. poppies . org Thats my Google usually serves my purpose best, but I have known to be a lurker on those other boards, despite their questionability once again. dts

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Poppy seeds are probably one of the easiest things to aquire. They sell them all over, grocery stores, nurserys, floral arrangers, etc. Hell they even put those puppies on bagels. Im just confused as why you would say go take oxy's? If you are referring to a pill, which I believe you are and please correct me if I am wrong. I just feel if someone is indeed cultivating poppies for different purposes thats all good and well, just don't bring it on the boards as Xjo explained. But besides that i would rather someone produce their own medicine, in their own garden. Rather than fill the pockets of a bunch of rich pharmaceutical companies who say since its a pill; its ok. I just don't agree with that attitude, pills are just as dangerous as any naturally occuring drug imo. Thats just my dtsLast edited by buzzmobile : 04-19-2007 at 12:27 AM. Reason: Cleanup
