Well this isnt about a mj plant, but a tomato I am trying to grow in a bubbler. I took a clone from an early girl I had outside, rooted it in rockwool and now it sits in my bubbler. Its been growing pretty well, but its looking a little funny. ![]() I think i burnt it a little. What does it mean when the leaflets fold up like that? Its pretty much all on the older growth. I'm thinking a Mg deficiency. But it is pretty close to my 1000 watt hps (16 inches) so could it be heat stress? My Ph has been stable 5.7 - 6.0. I've been using Miracle Grow 8-7-6 which does not have any Magnesium in it, so ive been also using epsom salts. It also doesnt have any calcium in it, but i figured my well water has enough of that in there, maybe my thinking is wrong though. The lack of hydro nutes is probably the problem here, but im really just messing around so it doesnt matter. Any opinons?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | couldn't say exactly what the specific prob is but leaves will turn up like to transpire more water (sweating). Could very well be from excess heat. What is the temp? some systems/rooms can have a 1k er at 16" while other areas may require 3 feet! Get temps in the 70s if you can. May also have humidity issues as well. Russ

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Leaf twist like THAT is usually a sign of pH problems. Check it out carefully for pH swings over 24 hours. -Mg Might cause that, but it usually shows up with chlorosis as well. -Ca would be showing other brutal symptoms before this curl ( i.e. B.E.R.//dieback ) What are your root temps? Air temps? 24hour average? This is not to be confused with leaf curl due to strength. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My ph has been very stable, pretty much staying at 5.8. My ppm is at about 600. It hasnt been going down, but up about 20 points. My system loses a good amount of water from evaporation, so i that is causing the rise in ppm. I top it off with my tap water until the ppm goes back to 600. Root temps peak at 72 degrees, but they usually stay at <70. I've been running hydroguard. I love this stuff, my res is so clean. Roots look nice and white. Air temps stay at about 80 lights on 70 lights off. Although for the first couple days of veg I had forgot to plug my blower in so temps had to be over 90. I am unsure of my humidity. I have an evaporative humidifier running in my room, but i dont know the RH. ![]() You can see a little yellowing on a leaflet by that sticky trap. I finally got rid of all those damn gnats, and that is my trophy. Its been in my bubbler 6 days. It had some curled yellow brown tips as a cutting. You can still see it on the oldest leaves. It has been growing pretty well, just ugly looking. I think i burnt it with some nutrients while it is lacking others. So I am going to pick up some better balanced nutes and do a res change. Hopefully that will clear everything up.
