![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | No books yet. Any idea what i should do to the plants (if anything). Should i start cutting off all the new suckers that appear? Should i cut the plants back to a certain amount of vines? Should I cut of all the vines with no flower clusters and leave the ones with flowers? Should I cut off the old undergrowth? Not sure what i am going to do yet, but im going to something.

Remove all new suckers Train the "head" around a mesh in a SPIRAL pattern, allowing for light on all sides . Tell me what the variety is and ill get into truss pruning, fert req's , heating reqs...

Thats a -MG and pH problem. Use less hard water, that Ca+ is blocking your Mg RO water + nutes = yumm Try for maybe even 5.5 or 5.7 pH, with a EC of 2.0 if your new, can reach 3.5 if your experienced.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The variety is First Ladies (although there is a chance they could be Better Boys and i got mixed up) Why do you recommend 5.5 - 5.7 for ph if it is a -Mg? I wish i kept them all to one vine, they are tangled with many vines. Do you think i would benefit if i cut them back to say... around 4 vines each? I might do it to one just to see what happens. I cant imagine cutting them back to one vine would do much good at this point in time, or would it? Heres a shot of a group of tomatoes i like. ![]() ph 5.8 ppm 900

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | What I do when I let my indetermenent tomatos get away from me is remove all the suckers that are small enough to still snap off easy, and then to also pinch the tips off all but the main leader. This prevents removing too much vegetative matter to harm the plant but gets the plant heading towards the one main leader way of growing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've been doing what you suggested Quantrill, seems to be helping out, thanks for the idea. Heres the biggest tomatoes i can find, they are the closest ones to my HPS if that has anything to do with it. They may have been the first fruit to set though, not positive. I suck at keeping records of what is going on, working on an automated way of doing this... ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Day 50 Ph 5.8 ppm 950 I counted 22 tomatoes on one of my plants, could be a few more but thats all i could find. Is that a high or low number? There are still blossoms everywhere. Going to pick up some bloom nutes very soon, that Mg problem doesnt seem to be getting any better so ill fix that. Heres a shot of the three tomatoes i previously posted. ![]() Gettin bigger.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | you should hurry to the store and get that Blossom Bloom end Rot, it's seasonal. Sounds like your hydro store won't carry Mag. Cal.+ I always stock up through the winter, just in case.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Theres a good hydro store about an hour drive from here, its just such a crappy drive i hate to do it. The store i go to is about 10 mins from me, its a garden center type place with a lot of good stuff, just not a lot of hydro specific things. I did a res change today, what a bitch that was. Next chance i get i am putting drains in my buckets. I cheaped out on buying all the extra valves when i first built the system. It would make everything so much easier though. Tomato plants smell. I had them out of them grow room for a few hours and they stunk up the whole house. They are huge. One is packed with tomatoes, two have a decent amount, and one only has a few. I'm in the process of re-doing my ventilation. About to turn the furnace on and i dont want to blow all of the heat out of my house. I'm making the intake strictly come from the outside, that way no heat is lost. If i had a carbon filter i would just exhaust into the house rather than outside. I dont want the house to reek of tomato plants though, so maybe ill build one. lots to do...
