Do you think that you could do a hempy outside during the summer? I am thinking of a hempy garden, tomatoes, corn, lettuce, etc... I wonder if onions would work; I don't see why not. Can you imagine a hempy onion that is almost as large as the container? I"m going to see if I can find a few onions left over from the summer planting and try it out.

I did see how to pollinate the tomato plants but I am still unsure about the pepper plants. I have a lot of reading to do but I have some time yet. I will be updating this thread but I probably won't be posting many pictures (I’m lazy).
Dont 24/7 your tomatoes please, it was a fad and has been proven useless in Holland. And they know their tomatoes.

I would do 18/6 , remove the first truss, keep the temps around 22-26*C during the day, then 14 right after night, then 18-20 for the rest of the night till morning.

Will it hurt them to go 24/0? I have my veg room on 24/0 because it saves electricity. Yeah that's right, it SAVES electricity. You see, if I have the lights off them the 1,000w heater will kick on. The veg room is serviced by 12 23w t5 bulbs for a total of 276 watts. With the negative pressure in the room the heater will be kicking on and off al through the night period.

There are several problems with 24/7 which I will not go into TOO much detail.

With cut flowers there is evidence that 24/0 will cause problems with stomata closure, as they have no "nighttime" they more or less "atrophy" and thusly when you stop the 24hour they have problems at night, or problems if you drop the RH accidently or intentionally.

Secondly, there is evidence that 24 hour periods cause problems with circadian rythym. That is to say, like people, that plants "expect" a photoperiod between roughly 10 and 18 hours of light per day, based upon latitude. Twisting of stems and leaves can suggest this problem ( dont forget pH swing tho!!! )

Deal with the heater ( either put it on a timer or force off ) and give 18/6 please, I am a friend of tomato plants and want to see them thrive.

If you have questions, fire away!!!

I'm sorry for suggesting that I would put any of your friends in danger or cause them to suffer. I have wanted to go to 18/6 for quite some time now. The heater I have has a thermostat and it turns on and shuts off according to the temperature. The funny thing is it says, right above the display, that it is "AccuTemp" yet the temperature is 5 degrees lower than every other thermometer in the rooms.

Here you go, picture to satisfy your tomato perversion. Anywho, here are pictures of my four shims. I was going to name them but I don't know any hermaphrodites so I'm not sure what an appropriate name would be. Is Gertrude a good name?
I'm sorry if I offended any Gertrudes out there.
