bluecheese, I'll give it a shot just for you. I have been wondering this as well; will root vegetables do well in a hydro, or soilless, environment?

I once grew carrots in DWC. They came out all cracked and goofy looking, but tasted pretty good and grew really well.

hey dude, its fun growing whatever it is, but i guess mj is special to us apparantly im growing a mango i just found out.

its a small one though, it grows pretty slow.took a huge jump at first, maybe i just dont know him well enough yet

also some tree, no idea what she is, its something i rescued sometime, was in a tiny pot and had been left behind by a moving caregiver.

it had gone to sleep, but woke up and seems to like the t5, about as big a leaves as i see on those trees as outside, maybe bigger. so thats cool

i got a pretty big dragon tree also, but hes just sitting in the livingroom, likes little water but loves being sprayed twice a day with plain water, is fed maybe once a month, but is the biggest dragontree ive seen yet here around parts.

happy grow man

If anybody, like bluecheese, has any requests, put them in now.

I would love to figure out how to get a vine-type plant (like cucumbers or tomatoes, for sauce) to grow in there. I think it could work if I line the walls with laddace (I have no idea how to spell it but it is that wooden stuff people use for some flowering vines).

As long as I can afford the electricity, and it isn't a fire hazard, I plan on adding as many lights as I can pack in and keep cool.

I did something to my jalapeño peppers yesterday. The young leaves are beginning to curl up and over. I used some week old veg ferts (I shouldn't have I know) so I think the ferts were just too old. I will be getting about 20 [young] tomato plants, and a pepper plant (if any of you remember Sexy Sadie, that is her and she is still going strong in a hempy) in the next day or two (today or tomorrow), from my brother, so the room will fill up quickly.

This site looks very promising for supplies. It is less conspicuous, for MJ growing, than most hydro stores. It also has some great info on growing: CropKing.com - Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) Production of Lettuce

I'm sorry; I haven't gotten all of the plants back yet (I had to give them to my brother when I filled my flower room). I will get pictures up tomorrow if not tonight.

Alright, I just planted some hempy lettuce. I used three 18 ounce cups. I then drilled a hole in them, as you usually would, and filled them with the mixture leaving about 2" of space. I then watered them down until they drained. Next I sprinkled seeds ontop, after which I saturated with a spray bottle. After soaking the seeds I covered them with about 1" of mixture and saturated that layer with the spray bottle. Finally I put these hempies under a humidity dome and under a T5 setup. Once I see some break the surface I will begin with a light nute regime. and bring them out of the dome.

I am off to poop then I will go out and get some radish seeds and plant them in two hempy cups, per bluecheese's request.
