but my old bones know that Pot growers know their plants. I do have a cabbage butterfly issue with my broc and colli, catipilars are chewing them up, cabbage butterflies to be exact. I went to a mainstream garden site very little info there. Just browsing here I have learned more than three days of surfing other mainstream sites. So I have a question to you incredible planters and growers.. Pot smokers "ingest "their crop. I bet you have some safe alternatives to Malazon or other pesticides. I want to eat my broc and colli not look at it. I heard spraying dish soap can work , Can this be so? Can this be healthy? What is going on here is nothing short of amazing. Another member pointed you guys out to me. I do not grow pot however, even stopped smokin it a few years back. I love the culture and the SMELL! Planting and growing are pretty much similar to all plants, but you guys have it down I hope you don't mind a vegetable gardener sharing the knowlage

oldfred---First off welcome to the garden. We have lots of veggie growers, and always welcome more. I'd suggest Organocide to you to control them. It's organic and Kills 25 problem insects, controls diseases too that plants can get. Also says for vegetable use. I use it on my marijuana plants too. Hope that helps you out. Got any pictures of how the garden is coming along that you can post?? I love garden shots... Have a great day too. Happy Growing Alleycat

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | High Fred! Welcome to the Garden. I have to tell you few things are better than stoner ingenuity when it comes to growing. Organocide is great stuff. Something else that may work is find out what the critter's natural predators are and attract them. Put out a bird feeder with seed that attract bird that eat those catapillars. I know lots of folks here buy ladybugs and Mantids to control pests in their gardens. Might be worth a try. again welcome. I'm with AC, love to see some garden pics.

![]() | Thank you I spent days going over mainstream sites Organocide was not mentioned I will "google" it thanks HARTY HAR a bird feeder . We sure have one of those, easliy moved too. It is so simple, bring in the predators. That's stoner inginuity indeed. Work with what works at the simplist terms. When all options are weighed the simplest solutonis usually the right one.

I like to use powdered tobacco..sold as "Snuff"...I use it straight from the can as dust or mix it with ph'd water then spray..works on most pests as the nicotene is toxic..of coarse.. Journeyman

Fred---Depending on what sized caterpillars too, if the moth ones, regular bird seed will get big enough birds, but if they are the big one that make butterflies, you might want to try unsalted peanuts to attract bigger birds. My feeders with seed I only get those little chick a dee birds. Peanuts brings crows, stellar jays, dove's, clark nut crackers and camp robbers for me which I'd expect would eat the bigger caterpillars for you. Birds around the garden are always kind of fun to watch pick away at stuff for me anyways, and the cats love watching the birds too. I use lady bugs, and they won't help you with caterpillars. Good Luck. Happy Growing Alleycat

![]() | i have found that Garden Safe(brand) insecticidal soap has work better for me than most(well any) harmful chemicals that i used to use on my ornamental salvia plant, i now use it on my catnip plant since you can just wash the soap off quickly with no harmful chemicals left behind, and it says its good for cabbage, it says it can kill some caterpillars and slugs but i have yet to use it for that purpose, another trick i read in the back of my Cannabis Culture was a couple of cups of cigarette butts in a gallon of water, let soak for a day or two, evaporate strained goo until to dark to see through, spray as you normally would, havent tried this method yet but nicotine is a very powerful natural insecticide
