Earlier I was sitting in the shade of the trees in my yard when I noticed that one of the trees has some sort of disease or fungus. I wouldn't know how to describe it so I've taken some photos. Props to the person who can identify the illness and/or tree type...

Nothing, just little dark spots from the red blotches!

Funny you ask that though, my 6 year old nephew kept telling me to take photos of the underside and I repeatedly told him that it wasn't necessary - and now you ask!

It looks like it could be pollen from another species perhaps, I've not seen that color (aside from red "Bottle washers") but have had sticky funny colored pollen drop down on to my tomato plants and other nearby plants and burn right through their leaves.

Ive seen something like that before from birds eating those purple berries off trees.. Just reminded me of that because of the white looking drool stains its leaving..
But I would lean more towards what analog is saying.. Do you happen to have any of those bushes/small trees that produce the large soft (fuzzy almost) buds? I wish I could remember the name of it.. Anyways it looks just like it.. It blows around, then gets stuck with water.. Can stay there long time Doesnt look like its doing much though,..

Can you rub that stuff off or is it a part of the leaf surface?
