This is my first attempt at growing "legal" flowers.... I am growing this Purple Coneflower for my wife, I have it in a 3 gallon with Fox Farm soil 3:1 perlite. I had this weird browinish burn show up on some of the older petals. Is this nute deficiency, or did I burn them a bit, when I experimentally misted them with some fish emulsion. I have been feeding it once a week with Fish Emulsion/Seaweed....Any tips would be mucho appreciated! Later

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I normally don't feed them anything, or water them after they're established, and they do fine for the first 2 years. This is in Florida sand/soil. Pretty tough plants. They seem to prefer a dry environment vs a humid one.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sorry, I don't know. The foliage looks OK to me. I don't think it's nute burn. How long before the petals start looking ratty? Wildflowers seem to flower better, in general, w/ light or no feeding. Overwatering could be a problem. Echinacea is pretty drought tolerant once established. We often get periods of drought, and periods of wet weather. As I recall, the coneflowers preferred the drought vs extended periods of rain.
