Howdy Ho! ![]() I'm doing a hempy grow for tomatos, peppers and cucumbers. I've just started, and I'm using the GH Flora 3-part series of nutes. After contacting GH, they stated that the GH Flora 3-part series of nutes wasn't ideal for fruiting plants, as it lacks the amount of potassium that fruiting plants need. So, I'm looking to add some potassium to the GH Flora nutes. Any thoughts on a supplement? A quick google search shows this as a thought: Earth Juice Liquid Organic Fertilizers at Home Harvest Garden Supply What do you think? Other suggestions? Thanks! -cabb

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | have you used to GH flora nutes yet? give em a whirl first, and don't add K unless you think it's going to need it. you'll see the jagged edges yellow out first, then curl if you wait to long, then brown and leave lesions if it goes way to far. depending on you set-up depends on how fast this can happen. molasses has approx. 5% potassium. black strap molasses at a tbsp per gal is ~1-0-5 npk, but I don't usually use until that last few weeks to suppliment without adding bad flavor, amoungst many other reasons. anyway, try the nutes first before you think they're not going to give enough K. as far as fixing the def if you get it, as long as you're sure it's not because of too much calcium or sodium blocking it out. any chemical/organic nutrients that have potassium in them will fix a potassium deficiency. Peters All Purpose plant food 20-20-20, Miracle grow Tomato plant food, Miracle grow All purpose plant food.(only mix at half strength when using chem nutes, or it will cause nutrient burn) other more organic supplements could be, but are not limited to: wood ashes, which are fast absorption, kelp, which is medium absorption, greensand, which is slow absorption, granite dust, which is slow absorption. sulfate of potash, sulfate of potash magnesia, muriate of potash, which are medium absorption. foxfarm grow big hydroponic concentrate which is fast absorption. Earth Juice Meta-K, which is fast as well. the leaves will never recover, but the plant will show recovery in ~ 4 to 5 days when using a fast acting nutrient. I just read about a million hours about all the different possibilities for K defs, because I was experiencing them. happy growing ![]() -Matt

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ifi you are doing a organic grow, use some hard wood ash, if not, anything with high k in will do the job. i know theyre are plenty of just 0-0-10 nutes, cant think of them though.

I'm only assuming there will be a def. given the reply I got from GH regarding using the Flora nutes on fruiting plants.I think I'll pick up something high in K, and then I'll have it in the event I do see a def. Any thoughts in terms of how much K if I see a def.????? Thanks for the detailed reply! -cabb

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I hthink what illegal seed said would be a great start point if you see a def. 0-0-10, and see how it reacts first before you decide if the plant needs more. do you have any kind of test meter for your fooding? if not, don't try to be giving the recommended doses of any fooding, keep it more neutral. you'd be surprised how much fooding some of those things tell you to give that'why I say try the stuff first, certain strains may ask for more, other may think your fooding is perfect. eitherway it's never a bad idea to have a K boost for the last few weeks of flowering. few meaning 3 or so, deciding factor being the plant of course. it's not just a math equation that someone can write up for ya man, it take a bit of playing with it and just doing it do actually get it right where you want it. I'm no guru yet either, I just have studied my brains out, and still study to make sure that I know what to do when something arises. good that you're looking into what you want to use, but what youshould be reading is journal, and watching what it looks like when they get the K def, and then searching though google, (which I find gives a wider array of results then just searching gardenscure, as wonderful as gardenscure may be. most of the time the information pops up from gardenscure of mj.com anyway, lol, google searches for me.) to find out what causes it, how to resolve it, and a whole bunch in between. careful, if you get addicted to reading new things that you find interesting, searching the net for tips on how to fix weed will keep you busy for weeks, months, probably...forever if you wanted to. what you need to work out is what works best for you and your set-up. which means you need a set-up. and I'm much too high for this much typing...lol ![]() ![]() peace -Matt
