 At last, my dream has (at least in partial) come to fruition. My generous mother gave me, among other things...this small collection of pepper seeds:  ...and a closer look at the three yellow packets:  Bhut Jolokia, the hottest peppers in the world. 1 Million Scoville units!!!  I plan on making oils and pastes with the resulting fruit--and of course giving some out to the terminally daft. The less hot habanero and New Mexican varieties will be for my mom once they germinate.Germination is very difficult with these Jolokia, glad I have all the equipment. I just need to wait until I have room in my veg chamber to start up on these babies. I'll update this thread from time to time. | ||

| Cool, I'm a pepper head myself. I grew some Fatali year before last, supposed to be a hotter variety of habanero, never heard of these , though. Keep us posted.

| Sweet!! or should I say HOT!! Nice collection! I am currently working with Datil peppers. I also grow Scotch Bonnets, Supersonics, chile, Habanaros white and carabiean (sp). Those red caribeans are going to be nice and hot too. I have never heard of the variety you mention, love to see the results! I'll mail you some Datils in trade!!! Can we talk about pepper trade?  Good looking definitely keep us posted!!! Emj Hey Trips you ever try the supersonic and the habanaro sample?

| Huzzah! Many of the little ones have broken through. I thought these were gonna take a lot longer to pop. We're looking at a little better than a week here... left side  right side  The first 3 columns of 5 starting from the left are the NuMex mix, next 15 are Bhut Jolokia, the last 4 columns are split with 10 Red and 10 Orange habanero, respectively. | ||

| TOOKOOL ZoomBoom Congrads on the hot little sprouts! I grew some of those Habernaros a few years ago...OUCH I prefer the Serrano and NM Big Jims. I had to get a freezer so I would have enough year round
