hello, there is a nice tree that we have in our back yard, but we would like to move it somewhere else! haha, i know that is most likely not going to happen! so, is there a way to get a 'clone' of the tree?? and plant that clone in a new location? the tree was a gift and we have watched it grow for many years ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ahh, excellent idea, much better, that is, if you are going to be that long or will have access to the tree later. rooting trees *its the bark* takes far longer than rooting plants like mj. although, that overwinterstuff is just because the low temps slow down the process, but on the other hand, i wouldnt plant a freshly rooted clone outdoors in winter, so at least in moms case it was a good idea. if you dont airlayer, the few months till spring should suffice in rooting the darling, if you keep it relatively warm, not too much, if its cold outside, putting it in too warm might shock it? dont know. and low lights. if i remember correctly mom just put them in buckets of water, about 7-8 feet from a window. you probably know this, but the younger the branches the better. if you really want to be sure to keep the tree, id try to google the process, ive never rooted a tree and those memories of mine are about, oh 25 year old.
