![]() | http://gi106.photobucket.com/groups/...al_place_2.jpg http://gi106.photobucket.com/groups/...al_place_1.jpg this is it in a more lit area http://gi106.photobucket.com/groups/...t_indirect.jpg So just yesterday I was cleaning the house, and I noticed the plant was really starting to droop. So i checked the soil and realized it wasn't being watered since my mom moved out. So I gave it a cup of water and it looks a little(or a lot?) better today. Also am I supposed to put it out in sunlight or should i just leave it indoors all day like it has been? today i treated it to a good amount of direct sunlight. but it will go back to its original spot in a little while. I am going to go grocery shopping today, and was wondering if there is anything I can buy to feed the plant. Like what is some good fertilizer and plant pot to put it in if it needs to be transplanted. I just really don't want to see this little plant die, specially if there is something I can do to save it. Also the watering schedule goes off of how dry the dirt is 1 inch down from the top. So what kind of plant is this? thanks for the help! Also what are water crystals?? would they also be good for my plant? Last edited by steacoon; 03-17-2009 at 12:07 PM.. Reason: water crystals

Funny Shit!*Anyways, I believe that to be a Philodendron (hope I spelled it right) Its just a basic house plant that does not like to stay wet. You can keep her in the pot shes in or if youd like to transplant, just put her in some Miracle Grow. She does not like ALOT of direct Sunlight and you could easily burn her up. She will do fine on top of shelf or fridge, or anywhere really. The bigger the pot, the more she will grow. She also looks good in a hanging basket , cascading over the sides!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | pick up some universal potting soil mix from your local hardware store, and water it on time. the bigger the pot, the bigger your plant will get. root rot is still possible, so it's not a bad idea to let it sit in clean water until the soil is just about submerged, then dunk it a few times, letting it drain for a couple minutes in between. this will help keep your roots healthy. very easy plants to maintain. and joint girl is right, it doesn't look bad. when they get longer they grow down as well. it's a hanging plant. ![]() | Okay I will definetely keep watering it on time. I don't get what you mean though.. submerge in clean water and then dunk a few times? can you elaborate because root rot sounds pretty bad. also when I pick up that universal soil is it okay to change out half of the soil or should I just get rid of all the old soil and fill with the new soil? Are there any nutrients I can buy for the soil or roots? Also I noticed there are some tiny holes in one of my leafs like something ate through them, will this be a problem? How do you stop brown leafs? Last edited by steacoon; 03-17-2009 at 01:45 PM.. Reason: holes in leaf

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | haha. yes...that doesn't make much sense so you fill a bucket or tub with water to the level of the soil in the pot. then dunk the pot in the water until the water comes through the soil. take out of the water and let it drain a tick. dunk it again a time or 2. you're washing away build up on the roots. nutes...I'm leery to give you any advice here. a balanced npk fooding is what you need, given at 1/2 or 1/4 even dose, only when it starts to show a bit of luster. ask someone at your store, take your plant with you if you'd like. you're not dealing with anything you need to hide here. lol how do you keep leaves from browning? how do you keep a human from pooping? it will happen on occasion. look up your plant on google, and I'll bet you'll learn more about it then I know in a few minutes of reading. ![]()

Really, your plant loks great and I would leave it alone. I have a few of these and have never gave it any nutes. The soil you have it in will be plenty. The plant needs very little attention and actually prefers to be left alone. Transplanting her will be tricky as she starts to fall apart and it's hard to grab her from the base of the stems (because there are so many) My plants actually do better when I quit trying so hard The most you will need to feed her (when your soil gets old) will be a general plant food (like MG) The only reason to transplant or do anything to her right now is only if your going to try to get a huge cascading plant. If thats your intention, repot and water- Thats iT! ![]()

steacoon----Yeah if you are being that picky on that plant, I'd like to see you grow a marijuana plant myself. That plant looks fine to this cat, and doesn't look to need and nutrients for whatever its already getting in the water, but if you want to buy nutrients for it, I'd suggest some fish emulsion/fish crap, which can even be found at most grocery stores. Numbers like 5-1-1 for the one I've used on house plants in the past. I would transplant to a bigger sized pot though. Happy Growing, welcome to the garden too Alleycat
