im guna be starting one soon i wonder if i use phosforus bone meal it would inspire more root development in less time? since you harvest the roots and phosphrous makes roots grow fast maby worth a shot. | ||

![]() ![]() | no. i know that it takes 7 years tho but in my state ohio its like 250-500$ for 2pounds of dryed root worth a shot imo. i may grow some inside in pots to tho idk 7 years is a ways off | ||

Ginseng has some very specific growth requirements and without those specifications being met it would be better to put your money in a pile and burn it. At least there would be something to ignite. ![]() ![]() | well what it requires cus ive seen it growing wild in some parks near by my house. all it really needs is shaded light and rich soil that stays damp prity often. and a whole lot of time 7 years thats about all. its really good to plant around big trees that have shade from there leafs where the ginsings leafs are it should be partly shaded | ||

![]() ![]() | I used to dig such roots when I was a kid. Ginseng was almost never found and I knew many of people who tried like heck to cultivate it. They even tried growing it in the exact same spot they found it and it never worked out right. Kinda like the infamous morel mushrooms. I made quite a bit of money digging goldenseal and various roots. If I remember correctly the prices around the house bottomed out in the late 90s and people pretty much stopped digging.
