A deterent for deer in ur garden
permalink

I was talking to a friend of mine that lives in Southwest Texas. I asked him about how he did anything with the deer thick as fleas out there. He said that for years he had a friend that had a cougar. He would get some cougar shit and put a little around his plants. He never had a problem with deer. I know everyone doesn't have access to a cougar before the jokers start. But a bob cat is another. Just a suggestion. Only tryin to help. Good Luck

The cougars around my parts wear strap on "cfm" pumps.
The veggies are starting to show up with the squash and beets almost ready to be taken. The spinach has been ongoing and has given up a good amount.

anybody know if you should clip those "flower" things off of strawberries. my grandma told me i should. dont know why.
no no, your grandma must be making a mean joke. the strawberries come out of the flowers. lol, funny grandma

I'm late this season, but will have a good sized garden. still haven't even planted one seed, but will post here when I get around to it.

cool thread.

haha, ah ha, I get it.

there's probably something behind it then. myfirst thought was a prank playing grandma. I'll have to get a couple pictures of my strawberries, they're doing pretty good for being planted just this year.

dont quote me on it but i think what she means is the first few flowers that come out only have one lil flower on it, and the later ones once it starts fruiting good are multiple berries on one flower branch, if that makes sense...(it does in my head lol)

ive got a bunch of red and white alpine and the first few flowers they put out are just one single flower at the end of a stem...and after they get settled and start flowering they put out one lil branch with four or five berries on each...

but like i said dont quote me on it, i dont know if the larger berries fruit the same way as the alpines...im flying by the seat of my pants on this one...

Not much going on but...

Some of my tomatoes are starting blossom and all of the pepper plants are beginning to blossom as well.

On top of that my melons are finally showing me something, even if it's just sprouts. I've got five sweet baby's and six Tiger Melons. I'm hoping I am successful with them this year.

And, I finally did the clean up I've been trying to find time for. Newspaper going down tomorrow because my back is killing me now.

Hopefully we'll get a good stretch of bright sunny days now because those veggies need to grow!
