Ball extra early. Rooted cutting was transplanted first few days of June into
3 gallon pot. Is now roughly 26 inches in height with 3 tomatoes and counting...

Great variety for any fellow Canadian tomato growers

hey BC how far in are your jalepenos? Also, what variety?

I have what is supposed to be an "early" strain and i dont have as much fruit growth as you do on yours.

We`ve had an unusually wet summer (up till today has been LITERALLY 3 weeks of strait rain) which i figure might slow them down some.

Just wondering if they are going to make time to put out even some small peppers or if this may be a fialed year with the hot peppers.

Habeneros are looking alot better than the jalepenos. I actually have small fruiting on 3 of those plants.

Hey Treadwell,

Sorry I didn't see this post until just now or I would've replied sooner. GC forums have been like a 9-5 for me lately I should be getting paid for this

No but seriously, the Jalapeno and Habanero were both cuttings I bought from one of those annual plant stands at the very beginning of June. I find cuttings to be cheaper in grower direct parking lot setups then commericial nurseries or say home depot.

Although the economic crunch was apparent on the price tags of vegetable cuttings this year. Cuttings at most places were twice as much as regular price if not more. I managed to find them for a decent price.Peppers were $1.49. Tomato cuttings were $.99. Although most of my veggies were started from seed late april early may indoors and are further along.

I have another pepper seedling started of Jalapeno and had Royal black as well but RB seems to die off easily for some reason.

The garden's about done here. Tomatoes are still producing, but everything else is done. I'll be cranking up the tiller soon to get ready for a fall garden.

Tomatoes are produceing a tray like this every two days. Wish I had more of an apetitie for them or the time to freeze them and somehow make a sauce. Lots of sqaush as well.

I bought Ette a Kitchen Aid stand mixer many years ago and it had an assortment of attachments as part of the deal. The one shown in the picture works great for turning tomatoes into sauce. I cut the tomatoes into wedges and feed them into the grinder. The juice and meat of the tomato come out of the screen and the skin and seeds work their way out the end of the attachment. It works great. Ette then cooks the juice and pulp into a sauce and cans the result.

Beautiful and bountiful gardens gentleman. THank you sharing the pictures

That Kitchen Aid mixer is one of the finest kitchen investments in the past 10 years. I'm sure you and the Mrs enjoy using it.
