Some of my watermelons are actually threatening the livelyhood of this one plant. They are encroaching with tendrils and will climb up and attach their vines if I dont monitor things.

Started a potato plant from a from a chunk of old potato that had a sprout growing out of it.

Already yielded 3 decent sized very earthy peat mossy smelling potatos. More
still in the ground.

Potatos love peat moss and lots of potassium.

My tomatoes finished up last week...there are a few stragglers here and there still though that I am going to let ripen up some more. All in all I ended up with a little over a five gallon bucket full of tomatoes for the summer. Not bad, not great either. But either way, it's so nice to have your own...beats the grocery store (maybe not the local farmers market though) any day. But here's what's left, amongst some peppers and corn that look like they need to be used in a few days.

The peppers I have are starting to produce a bit more. Here's a pic of the jalapeno plant and my purple bell.

I was off work yesterday so I was able to get some trimming done in the herb garden. This one's the purple basil...much more interesting taste than the genovese basil I have.

And here is some more late season basil I'm planning on growing out until it gets too cold. It'll come down all at once and be made into pesto and frozen.
