I wandered around our place this morning after Ette left to do some work at the office. Here's what is blooming these days. OK, starting at the top from left to right we have: Wild petunias growing out of our bricks on the front porch. When we first moved here we were given two hanging baskets of white and lavender petunias that evidently seeded themselves. They come back every year. A lace cap hydrangea called Annabelle. More lace cap contrasted with the traditional ball shaped hydrangea called Nikko Blue. Stella d'Oro daylily. Buddleia, but I don't remember the cultivar. Knockout roses. Strawberry flower. Pomegranate flower and then a picture of the developing fruit. Last edited by buzzmobile; 05-31-2009 at 06:25 AM..

From top to bottom we have: A terrestrial orchid called "Lady Tresses". There are hundreds that pop up randomly in our field every year about this time. They're a few weeks early this year. Spider wort growing near the burn pile. A sunflower bud forming. Honeysuckle growing along the edge of the woods. A whole bunch of patty pan squash flowers. A dahlia bud. This is the first time we have grown dahlias. Pecan babies. Looks like we are in for a decent crop this year. They'll be dropping sometime in late Oct-early Nov. Baby muscadine grapes. They usually ripen around Labor Day. Granny Smith apple blossoms. That's all for this installment. Enjoy your Sunday. Last edited by buzzmobile; 05-31-2009 at 06:47 AM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Some of these beautiful flowers bring a question to mind.. Anyone know from experience what the seasonal tolerances of Lotus flowers are? I think they are awesome looking. Those and orchids are a personal favorite (other than MJ`s flowers ) I just dont know what the extremes they can handle are if any. Ive only grown them indoors under those walmart type shelf lamps.
