![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I appreciate the info, Nelson. I picked the bulbs up at the Dollar Store, and honestly I was happy to see something come up. The info says they are supposed to naturalize so let's see what happens. I pl,anted a number of Liatris at the same time but none of them have shown so far. I don't think they will be making an above ground appearance at this late date. Like the Tigers say, "Wait'll next year." ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey JV. Devils glove it's called, so I've heard. It grows wildly all over the PNW the berries are toxic and turn red. The purple flower are lupine flowers.. which also grow wildly and abundantly in many colors up here. I always bring a few home for the vase. Pure white Lupine seems to be the most rare.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | No the bears don't eat the devils glove. It's toxic to them as it is to us. There are a plethora of other wild edible berries for them to eat. They eat mostly Salmon berries, Huckleberries and Black berries . Theres no shortage of them. Lupine and Texas blue bonnet look similar but not the same. The leaves are very different. You can see the leaves here look the same as his photos. Purples the most common colour of Lupine. It's actually quite an attractive flower, I agree. ![]() ![]() Last edited by BCGuerillaGrowa; 07-10-2009 at 08:13 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lupine grows wild here and is considered a "weed". It runs unbelievably rampant. I have a huge cluster of them and wild roses growing right next to the veggie garden. A nice addition at absolutely NO effort i might add. People that are unaware of the nativity of the two often ask how i managed to grow all the vegetables and flowers.I personally think lupine has a rather unappealing scent but others would argue. They do look very pretty along side my other planted rows though.
