Pic of Datura Plant / Jemsen Weed
permalink

I recently purchased a Datura Plant. I had heard that this plant was actually Belladonna. Can any of you Horticulturist tell me if this is true? I remember reading about Jemsen Weed 30 - 40 years ago. I can't remember the name of the book. It was about a shaman that taught this guy the ways of a shaman. Used this Jemsen Weed to travel as a spirit, turn into a coyote and raven. They ate peyote and did a ritual and other things. I want to say Don Juan ( Don Quixote? ) Hope I didn't bore ya'll.

the guy i used to live with was a film director.

he wanted to try to make a movie about this guy you are talking about. and he said that in the book it says that yu have to try all these drugs and stuff in order to follow the path that he did or something.

Anyway, the guy i lived with said that out of everything he tried, this datura was one of the worst experiences. i remember vividly him saying dont ever do it, and he was a pretty big druggie.

He said he made some into tea, and after he drank it he walked off for miles and was gone for 13 days. he doesnt remember what he ate or drank or even what he was doing for 13 days. he says he finally just started comin out of it and managed to find his way home.

I don't know about you, but i wouldnt want to be in that condition for even like 2 days.

It is not supposed to be a pleasant thing. .The effects can last anywhere from a few hours up to 3 days with a seriously strong dose. Please don't give anybody more reason to classify another beautiful plant. Be responsible please.

Also to answer your question, Belladonna is not Datura.

xjo sorry about the mispost. I "will not" let anyone mess with this plant in any way, shape, form or fashion. The wife thought the ones at the nursery were pretty so she bought it. We didn't know what it was. It bloomed mothers day night bloom fell off next morning. B so K, I will share this with ya bro, 13 days is a little tooooo long for me. I know better than to mess with shit I know nothing about. I'm to old to start a new thing. THANKS FOR THE INPUT

I think the man you are speaking of is Carlos Castaneda, Teachings of Don Juan was one of his books.

I knew a kid who made some tea and was arrested four hours into the trip for indecent exposure. why? he was naked, running wind-sprints down an alley...had to spend a harrowing night in a holding cell.

It falls in the same category as peyote for me: I'd love to try it, but not without a shaman's guide.
