![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | AWESOME!! Thanks a lot Buzz!! Do you keep them in a humidity dome the same as MJ. They take 3-6 weeks to root from taking cuttings. Should I just do it like MJ in a jiffy dome, or Lou Cypher's method, and leave them in the dome until they root? I bet I could get over 100 cuttings off that bush! Its about 7 feet tall, and 3-4 feet wide! Lots of new green shoots too! Im excited now. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Good, I took 15 clones, so I guess you could say i am treating them like Cannabis. ![]() I do have room for 15 more lilac bushes, but i may have to give some away if they all root ![]() Quote:
It would be cool if I could clone it all. Or most of it I guess.... ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | In response to mattH; I don't think you can clone a rose bush and expect the same plant to grow from the cutting. The reason being that most commercial rose bushes are grafts of one genotype underground (the roots of the plant) and another above ground. The bottom part is a plant that is bred for disease resistance and growth, and the top part is the actual variety "snow fire" or whatever. Of course, I could be talking out me arse, too. ![]() regards, Pops

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Not quite, Pops, but a cutting from a rose taken above the graft will result in a plant of the "Snow Fire" variety. The problem comes when the cloned plant is put into the ground. It will not have the benefit of disease resistance and general vigor that it had when grafted to a hardy rootstock. The rooted rose cutting would be better suited to a container. | ||
