We planted about a dozen or so a few years ago, and are now planting in other areas/gardens. I'm sure I could find it, but, when do you dig and seperate? Fall or spring? Nelson PS: Agree, the butterflies and bees love this plant!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | cool pics. In the fall I would order all my bulbs for the nursery. Store them over winter in a freezer, break them out in the spring and plant them in containers for sale. When the bulbs come up in the nursery, 1000's of pots, large groups of the same bulbs was wild. I sit there with a doob just watching the breeze move all that color around. Those are my second favorites right behind the Crocosmia. Cool pic made me think of those days, sweet.

All the varieties I've ever seen are corms [bulb-like]. I would have to say they are like drumstick allium and sunny twinkles on reproducing; haven't seen the rhizome variety, but that's not to say it doesn't exist in my neck-o'-the woods. And agree, that fall would be the best time of year to seperate/transplant [with a little bone meal]. Geez, summer hasn't even started and here I am talking about fall projects!! Happy Gardening !! ![]() Nelson
