![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Here are some pics of my first grow using only MG ferts. . It took me 8 months to get to finish(spider mites didnt help ), and tasted awful . Seriously, it doesent even look like pot does it? Dude it can be done, with results....but what do you call results? ![]() ![]() [edit]for the record, that plant did get me high...but it was as harsh as smoking a tomato stalk...so MG makes pot grow like a tomato plant, but its not a tomato plant now is it? Get some better nutes youll do fine....MG will only give you headaches, figuratively and literally.

Last couple of years I've been playing with other nutrients and honestly have more problems dialing in the dosage than I ever did with MG. Guess it depends on the grower. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For "low end" fertilizers ther is acutally a decent alternative to MG. Its somthing Shultz makes. Its the same type of powder fert as MG but it has available micro nutrients (which to my knowledge MG doesnt) I found some at my walmart here. It comes in little plastic screw top cans. About the size of a can of rooting compound. Actually comes in a "grow" and "bloom" version too.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just googled it to get you guys an actual name for the stuff. They are called Schultz Grow Plus and Bloom Plus I found them listed on ehre at walmarts..walgreens..riteaid.. Pretty much any small town store you could find. Im experimenting with the combo with one of my plants this year. I wnated to test this whole "no-no" theory of low end nutes out for myself this year in comparison to my compost teas and higher end foods.

I wanted you to back up your distinction between man-made chemicals and natural chemicals, their presence or not in MG, and why one would taste and the other not. And then explain why for example it;s okay to use H2O2 on your plants (a man made chemical). Plants ultimately only take in inorganic materials anyway - the method of delivery may be beneficial or perhaps not, but your distinction of man-made is useless, unscientific. Did you actually make the claim that the high is better on organics? I don't believe you would get a better yield with MG anyway. It is not the ideal fert. But it will grow you some fine tasting and potent weed. And so will their planting mix. That MG grow story conflicts with the experience of many others.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I agree. The taste is not great. But I used what I could get on the cheap. Next time I will use better nutes

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | for me, the proof is in my own experience, and the discussions i've had with others in my local community. there's arguments for and against everything in life. but that's what it all comes down to, anyway. personal preferences. do ya think a tile guy will tell ya to install linoleum? peace- arnold layne

![]() | Arnold, your post is full of strawmen as far as it relates to me. I did get you confused with the OP I think. I myself use organics; I get aged chicken and straw compost from my neighbor a farmer (she needs to get rid of it). Many times the only fert I add is Budswel bat guano for the flowering. It's no big deal. I've also used Peters chemicals many times. And I know the taste of my plants. There is no difference, none at all. The plant doesn't give a damn where it gets nitrogen or whatever as long as it does get it. There are no organic materials entering the plant tissue. It is all inorganic by that point. And of course the minerals, soil... all inorganic. So you've conceded that MG can grow "fine" weed. That's all I'm saying. But as soon as MG is mentioned people get extreme about it.One detractor in this thread claims that MG gives small plants while you claim the opposite. I bet neither are true. BTW, you cannot flush fertilizers out of a plant. That is not happening. Mainly it's this crap about man-made chemicals that drives me crazy. It's bullshit. You can't divide chemicals that way and come to any useful conclusion.
