So, I bought a total of 3 cubic feet of miraccle grow this spring for non marijuana use, seed starter, vegtable and flower, and Shrubs & Trees. I was wondering what was the big deal with MG. Will they still grow just not as big? Or will they just not live? I bought about 50$ worth of MG and really dont feel like going and buying brand new soil when I already have a good amount. Thanks, buck

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I used MG for my first grow for similar reasons and from experience I can tell you that its not MJ friendly! My plants did mature but, they were small and tasted funny! I have to emphisize 'small'! I'll never use it and wouldn't recommend it! I'd rather use the dirt outside! But, if its all you got; go ahead and you'll be saying the same thing!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | if you read his post, it says hes not using it for pot. Sbuck, plants like a certain ph level of the soil. all plants are different. most flowers do well in mg. pot does not. mariujana likes a soil ph of 6-6.5. miracle grow is usually 5-5.5 wich makes it not the greatest choice for cannabis. id suggest big bales of sunshine or pro mix. they are about 60-70 gallons of soil for around 30 bucks. no nutrients, so you will need to add your own. but this way you can control what your plants getting much easier.

No point in wasting your time and grow some stuff that is going to possibly die or come out crappy. If you're going to dedicate your time to it, utilize it well.

![]() ![]() | Last year I used arroundthehouse soil... MG will be used in my upcomin indoor/outdoor CFL only grow to give the beginner gardener a try at growing. I hate to emply that i am using nice gentics for this purpose, hoping for the best mebe i am too paranoid, or just dont trust the ppls i ordered seeds to (address) i will grow only wat is avalable(fert wise) at Wally World or Lowes etc., just to give people a view of the growing world. With the soil AND ferts available to all. P.S. am growing with MG soil and ferts,3 to 4 parts not just one, but not to say to people they can ONLY grow and be happy with , umm,"hard to get" soil or ferts as in the sites show, trying to keep it simple guys, gotta start somewhere...) NODER P.S. mj is also considered a weed.. will adapt to mostly anything, thuse giving a good start for anyone wanting to get in to the cultivation ![]() Last edited by noober28; 05-25-2009 at 08:55 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's been said a zillion times but I'll say it again. MG soil and ferts will work, just not very well. A beginner should start with halfway good soils and foods, therefore having a better chance at sucess. Yes it is like a weed, it is very easy to grow, well to get it to live. The difference is flowers that are small and nasty vs. flowers that are robust and potent. To each their own, but I recommend starting with something at least slightly good. If I were to go the cheap route, which I learned is never the cheap route or a good idea, I would go to wally world and get some top soil and perlite, mix it 50/50. Then get some bonemeal and osmocote, or holly tone nutrients. That will at least give you a fighting chance. MG does not contain all of the essentials that are needed for mj. Sure people use it, but what results are you looking for? All that time and energy, for what, an 1/8th of schwag? No Thanks.

![]() | Another thing, these two bags are virtually untouched, and I remember spending about 45$ on it. I cant find the receipt either so returning is no good. My local hardware store is about 10 minutes away so are there any other good soils for MJ aside from pro mix and sunshine mix? Could I use this for that soil or is that pointless?
